“Winchester is honored to have been awarded this NGSW ammunition manufacturing facility design project at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant,” said Brett Flaugher, President of Winchester. “The ultimate design will incorporate best practices, key learnings, and stakeholder input to create a state-of-the-art production facility which delivers the U.S. Army an optimal manufacturing solution for NGSW ammunition. Get those burning podcasting questions answered at the Annual Professional Outdoor Media Association (POMA) Business Conference this June with “Navigating the Podcast Wilderness” panel session on Thursday, June 16. POMA’s Annual Business Conference is June 14-16 in Kalispell, MT. This panel session, moderated by Gabriella Hoffman, host of “District of Conservation” podcast, features seasoned communicators who have started multiple podcasts and built them with great success. The panel consists of Jules McQueen, president of CarbonTV; Randy Newberg, host of “Hunt Talk with Randy Newberg” podcast (1st session only) and Brandon Butler, host of “Driftwood Outdoors” podcast.

The panel is slated for Thursday, June 16 at 9:15 a.m. and will repeat at 10:15 a.m.

“Hunters, anglers, gun owners, and outdoor recreationists are seeking longform discussions with newsmakers, how-to’s, and the latest in public policy. COVID changed some of the podcasting landscape, but the outdoor community is really revving up with podcasts being added almost daily. Despite the growing popularity of this medium, it’s sometimes hard for upstart podcasts to break out, get noticed, and obtain sponsors,” shared Thomas MacAulay, Executive Director of POMA. “We specifically chose the panelists for this session because of the quality and success of their podcasts and the candidness of how they got there. It is sure to be a highlight of the POMA Conference.”

“I’m thrilled to preside over this panel session at our upcoming Business Conference in Kalispell, MT. Our attendees will greatly benefit from hearing firsthand from some of the outdoor industry’s top communicators in the podcasting realm,” said Gabriella Hoffman, POMA Board Secretary. “The panelists assembled have great insight into the medium and will impart great tips. This discussion is perfect for conference goers who want to dip their feet into podcasting.”

All-New Durango Fleece Pullover by Pnuma Outdoors

Layering is by far the smartest way to dress for warmth, unpredictable weather, and ranging temperatures. The issue with layering is that it can also create bulk both on the body when worn, and in the pack as you attempt to shed layers to find the right mix of insulation and breathability. With that in mind, Pnuma is proud to announce the new Durango Fleece Pullover.

Constructed of two layers, the Durango combines a durable fleece outer later for wind protection with a soft, brushed-fleece interior for superior comfort and breathability. The result is a single item of clothing you can use as a simple outer layer on cooler nights, or wear as part of a Pnuma layering system in harsher climates.

Designed and engineered to be an all-season, quarter-zip pullover, the Durango features a relaxed fit through the chest, sleeves, and waist. Soft, warm and comfortable in the field or around town, the Durango Fleece Pullover will quickly become one of your favorite mid- or outer-layer garments.

Field tested in the USA, the durability of the Durango Fleece Pullover has earned its right to wear the Pnuma badge, backed by Pnuma’s Lifetime Warranty.

Swazi’s new Hoodoo is not magic, but science

A hoodoo is said to have a mysterious power over people, but New Zealand based cult clothing brand Swazi Apparel’s new men’s long-sleeved merino top will leave you entranced, not by magic, but by the latest smart fabric technology invested in the top.

Unparalleled as a base layer, the Hoodoo is designed to be worn anytime between sunrise and sunset, for camping out, backpacking in the hills, on the side-lines for the win or absolutely by itself. Meticulously constructed, it is ready for next to any adventure.

Made from revolutionary and sustainable NuYarn® merino wool, the Hoodoo is quick drying, thermal regulating and neutralises any nasty niffs. Highly durable, it is resistant to pilling and holes, yet remains lightweight and luxuriously soft while sitting next to your skin.

Flat lock seams help reduce chaffing, while breathable mesh panels incorporated into the sides of the garment improve vapour permeability. The material’s blend of merino and Nylon allows moisture to wick away from your body, while keeping your core at a constant temperature. Plus, the extra-long cut keeps vitals warm and protected and prevents the top from riding up during movement.

Davey Hughes, founder and creative director of Swazi, commented: “There’s no need to compromise on features anymore when it comes to choosing a great base layer. Our new Hoodoo is designed to keep the wearer dry, temperate and comfortable, no matter where the road to adventure leads you.”

NEW WORX NITRO 80V BRUSHLESS BACKPACK LEAF BLOWER FEATURES BASE CAMP REMOVABLE POWER SYSTEM

Charlotte, NC – This season, the new WORX® Nitro 80V Brushless Backpack Leaf Blower, enables homeowners with larger lawns, as well as commercial landscapers managing medium-sized properties, to remove leaves and other yard debris with a maximum level of cordless power and efficiency.  The premium blower features the new WORX Base Camp portable/transferable power system, high-efficiency brushless motor and sonic turbine fan technology.

Base Camp, a removable power pack that holds four 20V 5.0Ah Power Share PRO batteries, highlights the entry of WORX into the 80V battery platform.  This innovative power source drives the blower, charges all four batteries with an included cord and can be used to power other WORX 80V tools, such as the new WORX Nitro 80V Self Propelled 21 in. Lawnmower.  Each of Base Camp’s easy-to-remove batteries also can be used in more than 75 other 20V, 40V or 80V WORX lawn and garden, DIY tools and lifestyle products.

The backpack blower’s sonic turbine fan technology delivers a maximum air volume of 800 CFM at speeds up to 150 mph to lift and drive stubborn leaves and debris, even when damp.  This action is enhanced by dual intakes that pull in additional air for greater volume output and blowing-power. The blower’s Newton rating, which combines air speed and volume to measure overall blowing force, is 22N on Turbo mode and 16N on High mode.

The 80V backpack leaf blower also is representative of the WORX Nitro line of performance-driven outdoor power equipment, engineered with brushless motors and high-capacity, high-performance batteries to run longer and work harder.

The backpack blower is equipped with a maintenance-free brushless motor for gas-like power and performance.  This hi-tech motor is controlled electronically, rather than with carbon brushes. Therefore, it transfers power more efficiently and runs cooler with less friction and heat build-up than brushed motors. This maximizes battery energy and runtime, while providing smooth, reliable operation and extended tool life.

What to Look for When Buying Hunting Property?

When you’re planning to buy hunting property, the most important thing you can do is consider what will make it work for you and your family. There are many different factors to consider when buying land: topography, vegetation, and wildlife, existing improvements, access and proximity to recreation areas like state parks or lakes, and even the style of home that may someday sit on your land.

The key is to start with what matters most. Consider why you want this property—is it a legacy for your kids? Will it be a place where all generations of the family can go? Or maybe the space is so beautiful that you feel like camping out there every chance you get? Whatever it turns out to be, write down some short-term goals for how this land fits into your life—and remember that these goals will change over time.

Is it Secluded?

You’ve probably heard the phrase “home is where the heart is,” but it’s about to take a slightly different turn for hunters. You want your home to be where you can pursue your passion for hunting and fishing without restrictions. You don’t want to go too far from home to chase after big game animals or spend a lot of time working on your land because no one else has been around to do it for a while.

It doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t also consider practical factors when buying property, like:

Whether or not the land is publicly accessible for other people nearby andIf it’s easy enough to find in an emergency when needed.

Be sure that whatever property you buy will give you just what you’re looking for without unnecessary distractions.
