BuyKnives.com started as a file system put online in the 1990s by a knife collector that had a retail store selling safes and knives. With the previous owner’s retirement from another industry the safe and knife store closed and became a knife gallery to support his collection of handmade knives.

The business was purchased at the beginning of 2022 by a military serviceman and his wife as they were transitioning out of the military. The husband served over 10 years in active duty Army and has maintained a passion for knives and the outdoors since he was a young boy. His wife has a successful business of her own and together they are using their expertise in edged tools and business to build Buyknives.com into a successful small business with personalized customer service and top quality gear.

EVERYDAY BLADE

The EVERYDAY BLADE is a tiny replaceable blade pocket knife that's so small you forget it's even there... until you need it. The patented replaceable blade technology allows you to easily replace a dull blade with a razor sharp new one.

An OTF, out the front, is a pocket sized knife that automatically opens and retracts through the hole at the top of the handle.  By pressing the trigger forward, the knife springs out.  Pressing the trigger back will retract the knife into the handle.   Once fully deployed, the knife is securely locked in place.

Based in the beautiful Bitterroot Valley in western Montana, Dan created Hammer & Tine to satisfy his desire to create tools that are functional works of art; they are intended to be used and admired. He is an avid outdoorsman with a culinary background. He takes advantage of many local, natural materials and gets design inspiration from their unique features. Therefore, no two pieces are exactly the same.

The Work Sharp is different than other sharpeners that are sold to the public. It’s a “slack belt” system, a minature version of the same belt sharpeners that the pro sharpeners and custom knife makers use. It gives what’s called a “convex grind” rather than a “V profile”. The convex profile is what the Samurai sword makers put on their blades. It gives an edge that cuts with very little resistance because its convex shoulders push material away from the blade, rather than up the shoulders (as with the V profile). Also the blades stay sharper longer, and with the final 6000 grit honing belt, you can get a razor sharp edge every time! It doesn’t peel metal off your blades, like many home sharpeners do. It’s a non-agressive method and only takes off a minimum of metal. It takes an average of 2 minutes to bring a dull knife to razor sharp, around 5 minutes to remove large nicks and damage, and an average of 30 seconds to resharpen your knife. And it’s fun and easy! You’ll become a sharpening expert in no time!

Forging is the art of shaping metal using localized compressive forces. I use a blacksmithing hammer and manpower to mold the steel into the shape of a blade. When I hammer forge, I’m not limited to the width of the stock and there is less waste during the original shaping process. I then use a stock removal technique to form the knife blade angle on my hand made knives.
