The Time is Now! Buy Any CZ Scorpion 3+ or EVO, Get a Backpack and 2 Mags for Free*

There’s no better time to buy a Scorpion! For a limited time, CZ-USA sweetens the deal on their robust and reliable sub-guns, offering a discreet carry backpack and two 30-round magazines with the purchase of all Scorpion 3+ or EVO models. From the new Scorpion 3+ Micro to the tried-and-true EVO pistol, users will find a size suited to their needs.

The Scorpion EVO started it all. And the current pistol models include design refinements, making them better than ever. The Pistol is a semi-auto version of the popular Scorpion EVO 3 A1 – a compact pistol-sized platform with plenty of firepower.

The Scorpion’s latest 3+ generation series maintains the core design that made these 9mm weapons famous while incorporating many customer-requested enhancements. The new Scorpion 3+ Micro and Pistol models are better than ever! Scorpion 3+ updates include AR-style an ambidextrous mag release and bolt catch for left- and right-hand shooters. Improved sights and upgraded grip ergonomics offer the user an exceptional shooting experience while its redesigned, straightened grip eliminates issues with the thumb safety. An enhanced M-LOK handguard uses polymer, reducing heat transfer to the supporting hand. And the 3+ pistols re-engineered magwell has a recessed front radius on the lower receiver, adding more purchase on the handguard with gloved hands.

The compact Scorpion 3+ Micro sports a 4.2-inch cold hammer-forged barrel with a threaded muzzle for adding a suppressor. It uses the same fiber-reinforced polymer 20-round magazine as the larger models. The Micro weighs 4.7-pounds, making it light and maneuverable yet heavy enough to absorb recoil for fast follow-up shots. Adjustable grips customize the Micro’s fit while ambidextrous controls accommodate all operators.

With a 7.8-inch barrel, the Scorpion 3+ Pistol achieves outstanding ballistic performance. It squeezes more velocity from the popular 9mm cartridge than standard “pistol-length” barrels. Still, the Pistol is only 15.2-inches in length, keeping it compact and handy for close-quarter use. The Pistol tips the scales at a mere 5.2-pounds, striking the perfect balance between handling, performance and control.

Firminator vs. the Competitor

Just what is it that makes the Firminator the best food plot implement on earth? It’s not just one thing but several rolled into a single implement.

Versatility

“The Firminator is the only planting implement I need. Whether I’m doing conventional tillage, one-pass planting on food plots, or simply drilling in winter grazing for cattle, the Firminator can do it all,” says Chuck Sykes of The Management Advantage. Indeed, operators can vary angle and pitch adjustments for different functions and site conditions. They can set disk angles aggressively and create a heavy forward tilt of the entire unit for deeper disk penetration for first-time planting or sites that are heavy with debris. Angles and pitch can be adjusted to just slightly cut through top litter with minimal soil disturbance where a minimal till operation is desired. But the versatility doesn’t end there.

Different plants grow from different-sized seeds. Accommodating them can be problematic for many of the competitor’s spreaders, requiring multiple passes and adjustments, changing internal components between passes, or larger seeds getting stuck or smaller seeds spilling through too quickly. The Firminator’s Accurate Seeding System ensures that won’t happen. Metering openings can be adjusted in one-sixteenth-inch graduations until the proper selections for the largest seed in a blend are found. As the Firminator moves forward, the seed is dropped into a specially designed baffle that evenly and thoroughly distributes seeds of different sizes. With the optional seed hopper agitator, you can even spread blends with extreme size differences in a single pass. The agitator helps keep seeds thoroughly mixed and prevents smaller seeds from sifting through too quickly.

Dunstan: The King of Chestnuts

American chestnuts once reigned supreme over the eastern hardwood forest but were wiped out by blight in the geologic blink of an eye. Thanks to a fortuitous discovery and careful breeding, a new king has emerged in the Dunstan Chestnut, a superior nut and a superior tree.

Historically, American chestnuts were the most abundant species in the Eastern North American hardwood forests. Then came the blight, a bark fungus accidentally introduced in 1904. Over 30 million acres of chestnut trees that once stretched from Maine to Georgia and west to the Mississippi were virtually wiped out in less than a human generation. For decades, biologists and foresters searched the landscape for signs of hope. In the early 1950s, James Carpentar discovered a large living, healthy American chestnut in a grove of dead and dying trees in Ohio.

He sent budwood from the tree to Dr. Robert T. Dunstan, a well-known plant breeder in Greensboro, N.C., who grafted the budwood onto healthy rootstock with promising results. Dunstan next cross-pollinated his graft trees with USDA-released Chinese varieties. Within a decade, his seedlings began bearing fruit. By selecting and crossing individuals that exhibited the best combination of nut and tree characteristics – blight resistance and the production of large, high-quality nuts – he was eventually able to develop a superior variety: The Dunstan Chestnut – the only chestnut to ever receive U.S. Plant Patents.

Dunstan eventually moved his second-generation stock to north-central Florida, where the family established Chestnut Hill Nursery. In 1984, they planted a grove of 500 trees using grafts from the best of the second-generation trees and the third generation of seedling Dunstans. Those trees are over 50 feet tall and 16-20 inches in diameter today. More importantly, the parent trees are all blight resistant and produce superior nuts.

What makes Dunstan Chestnuts so much better? For starters, Dunstan Chestnut trees can start producing nuts in only 3-5 years, depending on care and climate, and in time will rival their parent stock in size and bounty, producing up to 2,000 pounds of nuts per acre at maturity. Unlike their native ancestral stock, they were explicitly bred and have shown themselves blight resistant. Unlike other hard mast species, they bloom later, so they’re less susceptible to frosts and produce annually.

Nomad Brings Hunters the Ultimate Combination of Stealth & Comfort With its Cottonwood NXT Apparel

Fleece is a marvel of modern outdoor clothing technology and the first piece of gear every hunter grabs when there’s a chill in the air. The product development team at Nomad has taken this time-tested fabric and crafted some of the most effective whitetail hunting systems on the market. Nomad’s new Cottonwood NXT Collection is loaded with features to keep hunters covered from head to foot in warm, silent, and camouflaged fleece.

The Cottonwood NXT Collection consists of a jacket, pants, cap and flip mitts. The secret behind Nomad’s Cottonwood NXT Berber fleece is the utilization of super-long fibers that trap air, making hunters warmer and more comfortable – longer. All garments in the Cottonwood line provide excellent protection from the cold through a wind-blocking, sherpa-lined membrane. Not only does the Cottonwood NXT Collection provide unbeatable protection against the bitter cold, but they give hunters the edge with close encounters with their quarry. Both the jacket and pants utilize sound-limiting fabrics that reduce unwanted noise. Hunters will also appreciate the stain-resistant fabrics that repel the nastiest of stains.

Thoughtfully built with hardcore whitetail hunters in mind, the Cottonwood NXT jacket is not only comfortable but provides strategically placed pockets for storing essential gear. Combining a 4-way stretch fabric, contoured full-length zipper, and 4-way gusseted underarm panels offer an exceptional range of motion so that climbing in and out of lock-on stands is a breeze. Hunters will appreciate the 3-piece adjustable drop hood and sherpa-lined zippered pouch to help keep ears and fingers toasty in the howling winds and frigid temps. Two zippered front pockets provide access to precious gear such as cell phones, snacks and calls. A separate rangefinder pocket provides hunters instant access to a rangefinder when the moment of truth comes. The jacket also features a safety harness port for added convenience.

Early morning treks through moonlit woods and heavy frost require special outerwear. For all-day during the rut, Nomad’s Cottonwood pants help hunters stay quiet and warm. The pants feature Nomad’s Ever-Adjust waistband, removable suspenders, and a high-back waist, so they stay in place, keeping out cold air. The Cottonwood pants employ Nomad’s crescent-cuff design on the legs. This unique feature prevents the heel of a boot from catching on the rim of the pants. Zippered leg openings help the pants glide over the boots during the on/off process. The Cottonwood NXT Pants provide ample pocketing for gear storage. The pants feature sherpa-lined hand-warmer pockets as well as cargo pockets to provide even more space for knives, phones or calls.

The men’s Harvester Cottonwood NXT Collection is available in either Mossy Oak® Hybrid Droptine and Realtree Edge. Exclusive to Nomad, Mossy Oak’s new Hybrid Droptine is an entirely new way of looking at camouflage design. Combining natural elements into an abstract matrix, the resulting pattern’s color and contrast blend seamlessly into the fall woods.

New Warthog A4- Evolution of a Classic!

New for 2022 at Warthog Sharpeners is the A4; a revamp of the legendary Warthog V-Sharp system used in the Classic II and the original Classic sharpener. However, they’ve taken it a step further in true Warthog style.

Warthog Sharpeners has added a 15-degree angle to its new A4 model, offering four settings to cover all the bases for your knife needs (15°, 20°, 25°, and 30°). Like the Classic II, the A4 is equipped with two 325-grit double-sided diamond rods and finishing steels that simultaneously sharpen both sides of the blade. The sharpener weighs about 1-pound and has a hand-crafted metal frame, sturdy rubber base, and powder-coated finish.

Changing Kitchen Trend

A recent phenomenon is knife manufacturers’ broad adoption of the 15-degree edge. The 15-degree edge exhibits less cutting friction, particularly when a thinner blade geometry is accompanied. This follows suit with Japanese chef/sushi knives, which have been utilizing sharp angles on their knives with excellent results. Contemporary Asian knives usually have a double bevel with a 15-degree angle on both sides. Among these knives are the Santoku and Nakiri. In the home kitchen, a 15-degree angle is perfect for modern chef knives. Use the other angles for heavier cleavers, pocket knives and EDC knives. Whether for your inner pro home cook or professional, the Warthog A4 covers all the bases.

Step into the future of knife sharpening with Warthog Sharpeners and the new A4!

Lithium Pros® Introduces The M3110-S 12V Marine Starting Battery

Finding the right battery for your fishing boat has long been an issue for on-the-water enthusiasts. Lightweight designs with durability, energy efficiency and high power are hard to come by in a starting battery. Lithium Pros® can package all of these qualities into a long-lasting marine starting battery that keeps you on the water all day.

Lithium Pros proudly introduces the M3110-S 12 Volt Marine Starting Battery, with the highest cranking power of any other battery in its class at 1500 Marine Crank Amps (eq). Powered by high-power lithium-iron phosphate (LiFePO4) chemistry, using lithium-ion cells tested to the UL1642 standard, the M3110-S 12V offers 110 amp hours and an incredible 260 minutes of reserve capacity, makes it the top choice for competitive anglers who refuse to compromise on reliability, battery life and power.

Since it holds a higher voltage at discharge, there’s no longer a need to employ two 12V lead-acid batteries to keep your graphs from resetting when the engine cranks. The Lithium Pro M3110-S can supply enough power to start most conventional outboard engines and keep up to four different 12” graphs running simultaneously.

Safely IP67 sealed in lightweight housing, Lithium Pros batteries feature one of the most advanced internal battery management systems in the marine industry. Its fully-integrated digital management system ensures a long battery life and trouble-free service. This system checks for over-current, under-current, short-circuit, or over-temperature and, if detected, protects the battery from damage.

Weighing in at just 31 pounds, you will not find more crank power housed in a standard Group 31 case (13” L x 6.81” W x 8.43” T). In addition, the lithium-ion battery provides up to five times more cycle life with 80% Depth of Discharge, easily allowing over 2500 cycles. It also recharges five times faster than traditional lead-acid batteries, so that you can return to the water in less time. And, unlike conventional lead-acid batteries, lithium-ion batteries don’t contain toxic materials or emit harmful gasses, making them a better choice for the environment.

Millennium Treestands GB-100 Buck Blind

Ground blinds for hunting come in all styles, shapes, and sizes. Durability and reliability, especially during periods of nasty weather, are as essential to a hunter as concealment. Lightweight pop-up blinds have their place, but many hunters opt to situate a blind in a desirable location and leave it for weeks or longer. It’s frustrating when you show up to hunt only to find those lightweight blinds battered and broken, lying in a muddy ditch or twisted against a tree. It is all too easy for those blinds to be ripped from the ground during a windy storm.

Millennium Treestands’ GB-100 Buck Blind offers relief, giving added security to hunters who want their blinds to stay put. Weighing in at almost 83 pounds, it stands tough as a beefy blind. Its anchoring system is robust, using steel ground stakes that are ½-inch thick and 18 inches long. These stakes help ensure that wind gusts don’t enter at ground level and upend the blind.

The frame is constructed of heavy-duty, powder-coated steel, not lightweight fiberglass that can snap when stressed. The heavy-duty outer shell is made from water-resistant fabric. Loops added to the material make brushing out the blind a breeze. The loops can also add rope tie-downs for further strength and durability.

The GB-100 Buck Blind can be erected on the ground or on an existing platform. The multi-configuration windows and interior are black, affording ultimate concealment. Each window has an adjustable height shooting rest, making it ideal for rifle, shotgun, or crossbow hunting. It’s big enough to accommodate standing shots with a bow, at 84 inches wide, 48 inches long, and 84 inches tall in the center. With so much room, sleeping out in your blind is no issue. The GB-100 Buck Blind is built for comfortable, long-haul hunts when needed.

While the GB-100 Buck Blind is no run-and-gun lightweight, hunters looking for a durable, reliable, and portable alternative to costly fixed blinds made from wood or plastics will find it an outstanding solution.

SPRO® Teaser Bucktails Hit Hard in the Strike Zone

The SPRO® Teaser series bucktail jigs utilize the most trusted and proven solid colors in the game. Stripers and fluke can’t resist a Teaser bucktail that enters the strike zone. Every serious angler targeting these species should keep at least a few bucktails on hand.

While stripers and fluke are suckers for a Teaser bucktail, these versatile lures will catch just about anything. Pike, muskie, largemouth bass and any predatory species with a mouth big enough to wrap around the hook is a fair candidate.

Available in 2/0 and 3/0 hook sizes, the Teasers are stout and designed to hook and hold the hardest fighting fish around. Razor-sharp points easily penetrate rock-hard mouths, and the sturdy bend design holds tight against blistering runs in big water.

Teaser bucktails are designed for fish vertically in the strike zone or horizontally on a retrieve. They are versatile and designed for amateur and professional anglers who fish hard and require a durable lure that will catch the big ones.

Available in six different color options, the Teaser’s come in 3-packs at a working-class price. White, chartreuse/white and pink make up the classic colors loved by anglers around the globe. Viridian Set to Showcase FACT Duty+ at IACP

Viridian Weapon Technologies is slated to attend the International Association of Chiefs of Police Annual Conference and Exposition in Dallas, Texas October 15-18, 2022. As the most impactful law enforcement event of the year, the IACP allows Viridian to showcase its FACT Duty+ Gun Camera, the most advanced Gun Camera available to law enforcement and the ultimate police transparency tool. Viridian will be at booth #6424.

Since 1893, the IACP has served as world’s largest professional police leader association and is dedicated to shaping the future of law enforcement through cutting-edge technology, education and research. The non-profit hosts the Annual Conference and Exposition in hopes to further their commitment to enhancing community safety through presentation of products, training opportunities and networking. Viridian is honored to exhibit the FACT Duty+, the only product designed to show what really happened in an officer-involved shooting, alongside hundreds of vendors.

“The FACT Duty+ is the culmination of our work with so many police departments, both large and small,” said Viridian President and CEO, Brian Hedeen. “We are thrilled to showcase the new product and its features at IACP. The FACT Duty+ is essential for every gun-carrying officer as it provides what really happened without requiring extra training or changes to tactics.”

The highly advanced FACT Duty+ weapon mounted camera employs a 1080p full-HD digital camera with a microphone and 500 lumen tactical light. The new FACT Duty+ also has the option for Viridian’s famed Green Laser technology to improve visibility and aim. Viridian’s proprietary INSTANT-ON® technology automatically activates the camera and microphone whenever the officer draws the firearm from its holster.

Not only does this eliminate risk of failure to manually turn on the camera during a critical event, but it also keeps the officer from fumbling with cumbersome equipment. The biggest improvement to the new model is the new Dattery data storage system that detaches from the firearm’s recording device for immediate charging and completely secure data transfer to multiple third-party data management platforms. This has been created especially for larger departments that voiced the need for more robust storage capabilities. The Dattery can also charge automatically while downloading.

Must-Have Tools For Every Deer Hunter

By: Kristine Ostertag

Your alarm goes off, you step outside onto the frosty ground, feel the cool morning breeze on your face, and gaze up at the stars in the sky. The smell of fall is in the air, and you are gearing up to head out to your favorite deer stand. You start your trek into the woods, adrenaline pumping, surrounded by darkness and the sounds of animals in the distance. You tiptoe your way through the crunchy leaves, hoping not to bump anything, and FINALLY, you arrive at your stand. You climb the tree, get situated, knock an arrow, and sit in the peaceful silence of the woods, waiting for the sun to rise. You have been waiting for this moment all summer, and it’s finally here.

Every fall, millions of people head out into the woods to chase whitetails. You sit around telling stories, laughing and joking about the one that got away. A lot of work is involved in hunting, and having the right tools for hanging deer stands, clearing trails, and processing your harvest will make things a little less stressful. Here are some tools that I have found helpful and recommend everyone have.

Folding Limb Saw

Trying to trim brush and clear shooting lanes with a dull, cheap saw is very frustrating and usually ends with me swearing and throwing it. However, I prefer to work smarter, not harder, so I recommend the Smith’s Folding Limb Saw. It has an aggressive tooth pattern and comes with a built-in tooth sharpener. So you can sharpen it while out in the woods. In addition, it has an 8-inch blade that works fantastic for medium-sized branches and limbs. Smith’s Folding Limb Saw MSRP: $21.99

BHA Commends Administration Designation of National Monument in Colorado

Camp Hale-Continental Divide National Monument conserves valuable fish and wildlife habitat, historic military site

EAGLE COUNTY, Colo. – Valuable wildlife habitat in central Colorado will be permanently conserved following today’s designation of Camp Hale-Continental Divide National Monument by President Joe Biden. Encompassing more than 10,000 acres of critical winter range for elk as well as mule deer habitat, migration corridors and headwaters fisheries, the area also is home to a historic military site, Camp Hale, a World War II-era training ground.

A broad coalition of hunting and fishing groups, including Backcountry Hunters & Anglers, has long advocated for the area’s long-term conservation. BHA staff were present today in Colorado where the president announced his decision and commended the administration’s decision.

“Hunters and anglers in Colorado have been working with local communities for more than a decade to permanently conserve these public lands and waters and important fish and wildlife habitat,” said BHA Conservation Director John Gale, who was on hand for the president’s announcement. “We’re pleased with the administration’s decision to heed the call of millions of citizens and undertake foresighted action in support of these irreplaceable landscapes.

“The Antiquities Act is a crucial tool to conserve large landscapes, secure important fish and wildlife habitat and uphold hunting and angling opportunities,” Gale continued. “Since it was signed into law by President Theodore Roosevelt in 1906, it’s been used by 17 presidents, both Republicans and Democrats, to ensure the long-term conservation of places important to hunters and anglers.”
