$5,000 guarantee: New technology to keep animals away from your car

$5,000 guarantee: New technology against roadkills

Thanks to a smart animal warning whistle, driving is made safer than ever before. The innovative VIONN GO is a super solution, using a built-in motion sensor that monitors the movement of the car and a built-in speaker to signal wildlife. The innovative product has already been launched in the US.

DO YOU EVER DRIVE DOWN A DARK ROAD THINKING… ”MAN WHAT IF I HIT A DEER OR SOMETHING ELSE” Or has it ever happened to you? Thousands of dollars in damage, emotional repercussions, and a wrecked car. Introducing VIONN GO!

The number of roadkill in the US is more than 1 million incidents every year. Personal injury rates in the accidents are in the tens of thousands, and collisions are estimated to cause more than $8 billion in property damage in the US. The average insurance deductible is $500. The unit more than pays for itself.

Until now, drivers had to take their chances when it came to animals jumping on the road in front of them. With no real solution to the problem, roadside fences and game crossing paths have not brought the anticipated breakthrough.

But drivers can now get behind the wheel with a greater peace of mind, thanks to the arrival in the US of the first smart animal warning device, which uses a special, previously unknown technology to keep animals away from the vehicles arriving – without traumatizing them.

How does it work? The VIONN GO whistle emits a special audio frequency developed by the manufacturer, which is found disturbing by the animals, signaling a vehicle’s arrival to the wildlife.  Animals will stay away from the source of the sound. The device is one of the most significant innovations in 21st century transportation, yet it is simple to install and get up and running.  Once the product is registered on the website, it simply needs to be attached to the chassis of the car and no more worries about road kill for the rest of your life.

To be eligible for a BBR Award and be considered one of the best binoculars for 2022, the binocular has to have been fully reviewed and tested by the BBR staff. Sonar Sight-Fishing Walleyes

Forward facing sonar Q&A with Z-Man® pro Dylan Nussbaum

A self-confessed “bass angler for walleyes,” young Z-Man walleye pro Dylan Nussbaum has helped popularize an exciting, interactive approach to his favorite species. “For me, it’s all about solving the mysteries of finding and catching walleyes,” contends the Pennsylvania based tournament champ. “Every day is a different challenge, and that, to me, is a lot of fun.”

Fresh off another tournament season on the National Walleye Tour—and another 35-thousand miles driving to the Dakotas, the Great Lakes and back home again—Nussbaum recently reflected on fishing strategy with forward facing sonar (FFS). Recognized for his talents at actively casting artificial lures and soft plastics from the bow of his boat, Nussbaum offers compelling perspectives on what has become the biggest trend in freshwater fishing today . . . sonar “sight fishing.”

Z-Man: When did you first start using forward facing sonar (FFS) for your walleye fishing?

Dylan:  I got my first unit—a Lowrance Active Target—about two years ago. If I’m up casting from the front deck of my boat, I’m using FFS one hundred percent of the time. The more I use it, the more I learn about fish and their real-world response to my lure. It’s pretty addictive. (laughs).

Delta Waterfowl Writer Wins Award for History Book

BISMARCK, NORTH DAKOTA — Paul Wait, senior manager of communications for Delta Waterfowl, received a pair of writing honors in the Association of Great Lakes Outdoor Writers Awards-in-Craft competition at its September conference in Branson, Missouri.

“Delta Waterfowl: How The Duck Hunters Organization Shaped Waterfowl Conservation in North America,” won second place in the “Best of Book” category. The comprehensive account of Delta’s 110-year history speaks to the heart of the organization’s mission—encapsulating its roots in waterfowl research, the diversity of obstacles conquered and the compelling, duck-filled horizon that lies ahead.

“The Delta history book is a hybrid between a coffee table book and Delta’s fascinating history in words,” Wait said. “All of the great artwork and historic photos add great visual appeal to the book. I’m thrilled to be recognized by my peers at AGLOW for my work, but really, for the leaders of Delta Waterfowl to have trusted me to tell the story of The Duck Hunters Organization is quite an honor in itself.”

An online article by Wait titled, “Crash Landings: ’Twas Three Weeks Before Christmas…” was awarded second place in AGLOW’s “Electronic Blog–Open” category. The light-hearted tale details a misty December surprise: a beaming array of Christmas lights and snow geese bouncing off the windows — literally — in not so cheerful fashion.

Walk, run or stroll in nature during National Wildlife Refuge Week, October 9-15, 2022. Enjoy great outdoor recreation in the nation’s largest network of public lands dedicated to wildlife conservation, the National Wildlife Refuge System, managed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Founded in 1903, national wildlife refuges offer access to a host of popular activities while providing vital habitat for thousands of wildlife species.

“Conserving wildlife habitat and improving recreation access to public lands are key goals of the Biden-Harris administration’s America the Beautiful initiative,” said Service Director Martha Williams. “National Wildlife Refuge Week is a great time for Americans to take pride in our rich wildlife heritage and discover the recreation and scenic wonders awaiting them at national wildlife refuges.”

America the Beautiful is a decade-long challenge to pursue a locally led and voluntary, nationwide effort to conserve, connect, and restore the lands, waters and wildlife upon which we all depend.

National Wildlife Refuge Week occurs yearly during the second full week of October. The week of celebrations will kick off on Saturday, October 8, with Urban Wildlife Conservation Day. Admission is free on Sunday, October 9 at wildlife refuges that normally charge an entrance fee. Nearly 500 national wildlife refuges and wetland management districts offer free admission year-round.

Cerakote is the innovative coating technology using ceramic and polymer to create a thin layer on any hard surfaces including but not limited to plastic, hardwood, polymer, and metal. Veterans will appreciate this timeless design and strength highlighted within these writing utensils. Fisher and Cerakote both respect and honor those who served in the military and expect these Fisher pens with Cerakote coating are as reliable as them. Durability and strength are vital virtues for every soldier, and they require the same traits in their gear. Blackhawk’s Rodman, Halbert Take Second at Tactical Games Panthera

Blackhawk®, a leader in law enforcement and military equipment for over 20 years, congratulates Blackhawk tactical athlete Zach Rodman and teammate Jared Halbert on their second-place finish in the Men’s Elite division at the Tactical Games Panthera in Old Fields, West Virginia.

Eighty-five total teams plus 25 individuals competed at the Tactical Games Panthera, with 48 teams competing in the Men’s Intermediate, Tactical, Master’s and Elite divisions. The team format gives competitors a unique opportunity to leverage their teammates’ strengths as well as a unique challenge to overcome weaknesses as they carry weights, shoot through courses of fire and navigate obstacles.

“It was a great event and the pieces really fell into place for me and Jared,” Rodman said. “Having gear you can always rely on is critical in the Tactical Games, and I think the T-Series and Foundation Tac Nylon gear do a great job of keeping my sidearm secure and accessible in addition to keeping me mobile.”

Rodman, a 15-year veteran of the Kokomo, Indiana, police force and SWAT team, equipped himself throughout the competition with Blackhawk’s T-Series® L3D holster as well as best-in-class Foundation Series Tac Nylon gear, including lightweight plate carrier, belt and pouches. Halbert, owner of The Tactical Games and seven-time Tactical Games Men’s Elite winner, ran the T-Series L2C holster.

THE FAST AND FRIENDLY BRASS AUTO-DRIVE SOLUTION FOR THE DILLON RL1100

The Permanent Solution to Speeding Up Your Ammo Production

Farmington, MO – Fast and Friendly Brass, a premier brand in tooling and processing equipment and supplies for optimal efficiency in brass loading and reloading, has the permanent solution for adding an Auto Drive to your Dillon RL 1100.

“We have produced the best solution for adding an Auto-Drive to the Dillon Precision RL 1100 Reloader,” said Bill Birmingham, Owner of Fast and Friendly Brass. “You have to send us your press, and we’ll send it back with the ultimate solution for automating the process. It is a permanent solution, but trust me when I say that it is well worth it.”

Like other Fast & Friendly Brass Auto-Drives, the RL 1000 Auto-Drive is made in the U.S. using 6061-T6 billet aluminum and hardened 4140 billet steel. It works for the full stroke of the stock Dillon RL 1100 and has a direct drive with no belts or chains. The Auto Drive runs on a VFD (Variable Frequency Drive) controlled 1/4HP motor that runs on standard 110/120 VAC and is rated for well over 10,000 hours of service. The kicker with the Fast and Friendly Brass auto-drive is that it is crankshaft driven, running continuously in one direction. This means it runs smoother and more efficiently. Competing drives waste time and energy by using a back and forth motion.

You can select from a 36:1 gear ratio, with speeds of 0-5333 for all pistol brass and easy-to-size rifle brass, but not for a .300 Blackout conversion. The 50:1 gear ratio has speeds of 0-3840 for most general applications. There is an available 75:1 gear ratio with speeds of 0-2560 for really tough-to-size .30 cal brass, like that is typically shot out of belt-fed full auto, or SCAR rifles. Depending upon your needs, these options should cover you. For more information, go to the Fast &Friendly Brass website.

Beginner’s Guide To Deer Hunting

Hunting is definitely one of the sports with the most practical uses — not to mention the manliest one. Nevertheless, knowing where to begin is not always easy. In order to do some truly professional hunting, you need to know what you’re doing and you have to prepare well. With that in mind, we’ve decided to provide you with a short guide on how to start deer hunting as a beginner!

Deer Hunting in the US

Hunting wild deer is an activity that people have performed for literally thousands of years. In general, hunting is one of the oldest sports on the planet; so honoring the traditions of our ancestors and the passion that appears in the battle between man and nature is important. From the Germanic forests of Europe to the Native American hunting grounds — most cultures are positively riddled with detailed accounts on deer hunting with bows and arrows.

This is an especially important tradition for the United States, as the Plymouth Rock pilgrims wrote about venison from deer that they hunted near their first settlements. Explorers were often faced with the prospect of having to hunt for their meals — and deer was one of the most nutritious options in the newly charted forests.

Today, the United States has managed to stabilize the local deer population — some states even have issues with overpopulation by deers. Ethical hunting is a crucial part of population management for wildlife across the country.

Preparation and Licensing

There are quite a few things you need to do before you set your foot on a deer hunting ground. Contrary to what you see in pop culture, hunting is both extensively planned and heavily regulated. The first thing you need to do is get yourself a gun and have enough practice with it to be a productive hunter.

4 Considerations Before Purchasing Ammunition Online

Online shopping has been rapidly growing in popularity due to the increasing access to technology. Now, some unconventional goods, like ammunition, can also be bought online. While you can purchase ammunition through the internet, there are varying state laws and technicalities to sort through that make this activity tricky. Let’s take you through some factors to consider so you can get your ammunition without any hassle.

1.   Research Your State’s Laws

Though the American federal law allows adult citizens to purchase guns and ammunition with a license, many states have regulated gun control laws and require firearms possession permits. Due to these regulations, online stores require certification before shipping or do not offer services in the following states:

New YorkNew JerseyIllinoisConnecticutMassachusettsAlaska

Sometimes the state’s gun laws approve the purchase of ammunition online, but due to some shipping ordinances, vendors cannot deliver firearms and ammunition to particular areas, such as Hawaii, Washington DC, and Alaska. You must research your state’s laws regarding ammunition before placing an order.

2.   Ensure the Website Is Trusted

Since buying ammunition online is gaining popularity, many illegal stores have appeared that do not possess the Federal Firearms License (FFL) that’s required to sell guns and ammunition. Such certification guarantees the customer security of purchase and ensures the products are legal. Online stores with the correct licensing, like www.wapeedee.com, will display their FFL numbers that customers can use to check the validity of the certificate through a government website.

3.   Understand Your Use-Case

Research the kind of ammunition that suits your use case before placing an order. For instance, 22-long rifle ammunition is a cheap option with a small caliber, meaning it has little recoil and muzzle blast. The low caliber makes it ideal for training and small game hunting. Another ammunition preferred for hunting is JHP ammunition.

The bullet has an open casing that expands on hitting the target and dumps energy after penetration. These features create a large wound channel delivering less pain. Hunters call this a humane kill. JHP properties also make it suitable for self-defense.

Matador Waterproof Pill Canister Review

It is a simple thing, a waterproof pill container that does its job and is solid enough to last. Matador built this Waterproof Pill Canister to withstand the rigors of travel and the backcountry at the bottom of your pack.

If you carry medicine in a pill container and it comes open in your suitcase or pack while on a trip, you know what a pain it is.

The Matador Pill Canister is as solid as can be with an aluminum shell. The sliding insert made of Polypropylene with a silicone seal is food safe, BPA-Free and PVC-free all while keeping your pills organized and safe. The downside of an aluminum shell is that you cannot clearly see the pills once the container is closed, but you have the peace of mind that it never open in your pack.

You can pick these up directly from Matador for $19.99 and you can know it will last. We beat this one up over five weeks of travel over the summer and it held up day after day bouncing around my pack on flights and in and out of hotels. Buy quality products once and own them for life.

The Western Fire Chiefs Association Introduces Phase 2 of its Wildland Fire Map

First of Its Kind to Incorporate Live Aircraft Tracking, 3D Fire Map Rendering,
and California-Specific FIRIS Real Time Fire Mapping

The Western Fire Chiefs Association (WFCA) announces the introduction of Phase 2 of its Fire Map (https://wfca.com/fire-map), which launched in July this year. Phase 2 includes 3D map views, reporting of active fire-fighting aircraft in real-time, and Fire Integrated Real-Time Intelligence System (FIRIS) specific to the state of California. These new introductions provide an even higher level of detail to keep lives, land, and property safe.

“Wildland fires are often at their most dangerous when they first start,” said Brent VanKeulen, Deputy Director, WFCA. “This information will significantly impact the speed in which we can get information out to the public, and will also provide a more detailed and richer level of visual communications to communities at
risk.”

The WFCA Fire Map is the first of its kind to integrate real-time flight mapping of fire-fighting aircraft. The Forest Service uses aircraft to track, manage, and fight wildland fires. These include aerial supervision aircraft that communicate with firefighters on the ground, air attack aircraft coordinating aerial fire fighting, air tankers with the capability to deliver up to 8,000 gallons of fire retardant, water scoopers, and smoke-jumper aircrafts. Fire Suppression Aircraft are depicted on the WFCA Fire Map, with aircraft type, speed, and altitude. Clicking on an individual aircraft reveals that aircraft’s recent flight path indicating where current fire-fighting activity is taking place.

Lead Plane conducting a Fire Suppression Mission over the Double Creek & Sturgill Fires in Oregon – live feed, Sep 27, 2022 : 3:42 PM

The WFCA Fire Map is also the first to depict Wildland Fire activity in 3D, where the viewer can rotate their vantage point around the fire map and view the fire from 360 degrees.
