Introduction: The Glock 43X and Its Distinction

The Glock 43X is a popular choice among concealed carriers, and for good reason. Its reputation can be attributed to its reliability and performance, as well as its unique compact design, which visibly departs from standard Glock models. This firearm offers an enhanced capacity of a 10-round magazine, ergonomic grip, and versatile sights while maintaining a slim frame, making it perfect for concealed carry. Choosing the right Glock 43X holster improves the user experience by ensuring safe carry and retention without accidental discharges or gun theft, comfort, desired concealment, and accessibility. In this article, we explore the features you should look for in a quality holster and some of the best holster choices for a Glock 43X.

Characteristics of a Quality Holster

Holsters come in different types of materials, and you should gather information to make the best decision on which holster better suits your purpose and lifestyle. The most common holster materials for the Glock 43X are leather, Kydex, and nylon. Let’s break down the differences between each.

Leather: it is the traditional choice for gun carriers because they are durable and provide a comfortable carry due to their adaptability to the shape of the gun, providing a snug fit. They are, however, more high maintenance and are not very rigid, which can affect retention.Kydex: these holsters are moulded thermoplastic and offer excellent retention and safety. In addition, they are highly durable and resistant to moisture, which makes them a popular choice among gun owners. However, they do not provide as much comfort as other materials, especially for every day, prolonged carry.Nylon: nylon is also among the most popular materials for Glock 43X holsters. Nylon holsters are lightweight, affordable, and versatile. However, they are not as durable and do not provide the same level of safety and retention as other materials.

Another key factor to consider when selecting a holster is retention. As you can tell by now, the choice of material influences the level of retention and security. But there are different holster models, and you should always verify whether they have specific features that increase retention quality and overall safety. Find a holster with adjustable retention systems to accommodate your Glock 43X.

Last but not least, your requirements are essential when choosing a holster. The Glock 43X is usually a concealment weapon, so ensure you find a holster that minimises printing to achieve the level of discreteness you want. Furthermore, your holster style should match your preferred carry position to provide safe and comfortable daily carry. And, of course, evaluate the aesthetic appeal: choose a holster that makes you proud without compromising functionality.

Top-notch Glock 43X Holsters for the Modern Man

IWB Holster

The Glock 43X is meant for concealed carry, so an IWB holster is an ideal option. This holster model is a perfect fit for the weapon, and it holds the gun securely in the 3 or 4 o’clock position. It is made of premium Italian leather and is double-stitched, meaning that it is extremely durable as well as comfortable. This IWB holster offers a tension screw, which allows you to adapt the draw resistance according to your preferences.

The Firminator – Once Size Fits All Seeds

The Firminator’s all-in-one design saves users time and money through the efficiency of disking, seeding, and compacting soil with a single food plot device. The Firminator’s Accurate Seeding System allows users to sow any size of seeds, ranging from large corn and sunflower seeds to the tiniest clover seeds, without changing seed hoppers or wasting seeds.

Many food plot prescriptions call for planting a mix or blend of seeds, with smaller seeds like clover making up a significant percentage. Doing so widens the window of attractiveness as other plant species reach their highest level of growth and nutrition at different times. It also protects against climatic fluctuations, like early or late frosts and varying amounts of rainfall, ensuring at least some plants will flourish.

Attempting to sow blends of seeds containing a wide range of sizes with a conventional seeder can lead to wasting seeds. Traditional machines must be configured for larger seeds, causing smaller ones to sift through and spill out– especially when stopping. Changing hoppers or making manual adjustments is necessary to sow different-sized seeds with traditional machines. This limitation confines planting to a monoculture crop or requires multiple passes with different equipment.

The Firminator’s Accurate Seeding System is ground-driven, dispensing seed relative to travel speed. This allows users to have precise control over the seeding rate. Then, when the unit stops, an automatic shut-off prevents wasteful spills. An optional seed hopper agitator keeps seeds thoroughly mixed, preventing smaller seeds, like clover, from sifting through too quickly. The seed hopper agitator evenly spreads blends with extreme size differences in a single pass.

As the Firminator moves forward, it drops seeds into a specially designed baffle that distributes directly in front of the cultipacker. The Firminator’s commercial-grade cultipacker rolls over the seeds and compacts the soil, enhancing seed-to-soil contact for better germination rates and protection from wind deflection.

Barnett’s King Rat Slingshots Call to the Heart of the Young Outdoorsman

New for 2023, Barnett® presents a full line of King Rat Slingshots sure to bring adventure to hunters of all ages. The King Rat series is rooted in David Barnett’s childhood and draws from over 60 years of hunting and adventures.

Barnett was founded in the early 1960s by David Barnett’s Father in the industrial market town of Willenhall, West Midland, England. As a boy, David Barnett often visited his father’s workplace after school, waiting to be taken home. For his seventh birthday in 1972, his father brought a tubular band slingshot from America. The new contraption was so different from everything he had seen from classmates and neighbors.

Mesmerized by the slingshot, he could not wait to kill some vermin with the “Pocket Full of Power.” Armed with marbles, David Barnett set out amongst the overloaded trash bins in the backyards of the local buildings as he set his sights on the numerous Black rats that scavenged in the area.

“One day, I was in luck and hit one so square, it slid up against the wall and started screeching loudly, bouncing up and down until it finally froze still. As I walked over to it with the excitement of the kill, it started screeching loudly again, and to my horror, the ugliest and biggest black rat I had ever imagined ran in and started tearing it apart, 10 feet from me. Looking at me with a bald, fire-burnt red face, it hissed, unflinching and unafraid,” recalled David Barnett.

To this day, half a century later, he still remembers that day so vividly. It wasn’t long after that that the family business started to make slingshots. So, to commemorate the 60th anniversary of Barnett and to try to put this “demon” to rest, David Barnett has decided to relive the excitement of a young boy’s adventures with slingshots with the King Rat Slingshot designs.

ICYMI: Supreme Court Accepts NRA First Amendment Case – A “Historic Step Forward” for the NRA and Free Speech

FAIRFAX, Va. – The National Rifle Association of America (NRA) commented on the United States Supreme Court accepting National Rifle Association of America v. Maria T. Vullo for review. The decision is a landmark development in one of the most closely watched First Amendment cases in the nation.

“This is a historic step forward for free speech, the NRA’s millions of members, and for all who believe in freedom,” says NRA CEO & EVP Wayne LaPierre. “The NRA’s fight for justice continues – this time in the highest court in the land. At a time when free speech is under attack as never before, it is important that government officials be sent a message that they cannot use intimidation tactics to silence those with whom they disagree.”

In a May 2018 lawsuit, the NRA alleged that Vullo, at the behest of former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, took aim at the NRA and conspired to use the regulatory power of the New York Department of Financial Services (DFS) to “financially blacklist” the NRA – coercing banks and insurers to cut ties with the Association to suppress its pro-Second Amendment speech. The NRA argues that Vullo’s actions were meant to silence the NRA – using “guidance letters,” backroom threats, and other measures to cause financial institutions to “drop” the Association.

The NRA’s First Amendment claims withstood multiple motions to dismiss. But in 2022, after Vullo appealed the trial court’s ruling, the Second Circuit struck down the NRA’s claims. The court ruled that in an era of “enhanced corporate social responsibility,” it was reasonable for New York’s financial regulator to warn banks and insurance companies against servicing pro-gun groups based on the supposed “social backlash” against those groups’ advocacy. The court also ruled that Vullo’s guidance – written on her official letterhead and invoking her regulatory powers – was not a directive to the institutions she regulated, but rather a mere expression of her political preferences.

On February 7, 2023, the NRA petitioned the U.S. Supreme Court, seeking review of the Second Circuit decision.

The Court granted review on the following question:  Does the First Amendment allow a government regulator to threaten regulated entities with adverse regulatory actions if they do business with a controversial speaker, as a consequence of (a) the government’s own hostility to the speaker’s viewpoint or (b) a perceived “general backlash” against the speaker’s advocacy?

What Causes Color-Phase Turkeys

Have you ever seen a wild turkey with irregular-colored plumage?

If you hunt turkeys long enough, it’s likely that you’ll eventually encounter what appears to be a phenomenon in nature: a wild turkey displaying irregular plumage. I’ve been hunting turkeys for 18 years, and I’ve seen close to a dozen different birds like this, including an all-white hen I harvested from a flock of wild birds one fall — perfectly legal — in Wisconsin.

Non-traditional plumage arrangements are known as color phases. What are the different color phases and variations? And, what causes them? I spoke with NWTF biologist Mark Hatfield to better understand the topic.

Hatfield began by saying that “some color phases are more prevalent than others and can be more common in certain locations based on the gene pool. Wild turkeys and domestic turkeys are known to interbreed in some instances, but do not fully explain all the color phases and variations. It’s assumed that color-phase birds also face greater selection pressure from predators and hunters due to their lack of camouflage.”

Follow along to learn about the most common color phases of wild turkeys that the NWTF recognizes and some points about each.

The Alpine Lager camo packaging features TrueTimber’s MC2 Blaze Orange—an original TrueTimber camo pattern synonymous across North America with fall hunting and colder temperatures. This new Alpine Lager can design is now available in stores across New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island —just in time for deer season.

“Our Alpine Lager drinkers live for getting outside, and the excitement we’ve generated through our Alpine Blaze Orange Camo pack this year has been fun and authentic,” said Moosehead Breweries VP of Sales and Marketing Trevor Grant. “Our partnership with TrueTimber has given us the opportunity to leverage the world’s best-selling camouflage in our packaging and we look forward to collaborating more in the future.”
