The Millennium G400 Ground Blind Chair Provides Extended Comfort for Serious Hunters

Today’s ground blinds offer a wide variety of options for both gun and bow applications. Ground blind hunting can be one of the most productive and exciting strategies during the fall. Vastly superior to traditional folding camp chairs, the new Millennium® G400 is designed specifically to maximize hunting from a ground blind.

Placing a blind close to established game trails often creates encounters at incredibly close range. Yet, one squeak or creak from a camping chair will send that trophy of a lifetime bounding away. The G400 features SilentHunt Design, so in that critical moment of truth, the hunter can silently swivel for the best shot opportunity. The chair also utilizes Millennium’s ComfortMax Seat to provide all-day comfort and a solid shooting position.

The G400 has four adjustable legs so that the chair can be leveled on uneven terrain. The seat height can be adjusted from 16-19 inches. This accommodates diversity in body size and allows a hunter to raise and lower the chair for the best shooting angle through blind windows. A common mistake for compound and crossbow hunters is not enough clearance when aiming through a window. Although the sight pin or scope may show a clear path to the target, the arrow flies two to three inches lower, causing the arrow to strike the blind window. Simply adjusting the height of the G400 can eliminate this drastic mistake.

Featuring Millennium’s GoLite Design, the G400 is made from aluminum and nicely folds, so it’s easy to carry and can be bundled with a ground blind for hunters on the move. It weighs just 7.9 pounds with a seat size 20 inches wide and a backrest 17 inches tall.

Warriors Take to Archery with Pope and Young

Pope & Young Teams up with Wishes for Warriors to Introduce Veterans to Archery

Pope and Young, America’s leading bowhunting organization recently partnered with Wishes for Warriors to introduce six veterans to the sport of archery.

During the 1st annual Inter-Mountain Bowhunters Bash Pope and Young volunteers and staff members spent the day introducing the veterans to the sport of archery, getting them acquainted with archery equipment, the process, and the fundamentals of shooting a compound bow.

The hands-on approach allowed each veteran to work directly with Pope and Young mentors and coaches, taking them through the process of setting up a bow, trimming arrows, and tuning their equipment.  After being properly outfitted, each warrior took to the range to learn the basics of bowhunting, including sighting in the bow, proper form, and ultimately taking the shot.

Given the chance to learn from world-class bowhunters, the Warriors were ready to take the hill and spend time on a 3-D course. It didn’t take long for the shoot to become competitive, but all of the participants had a blast, and the coaches absolutely loved getting to continue the coaching and encouragement on shot placement, range finding, and shooting up and down slopes.

CZ-USA Introduces Two 457 Rimfire Rifles Configured for Lefties

The wait is over for southpaw shooters coveting CZ’s latest generation of precision rimfire rifles. CZ-USA proudly introduces two left-hand 457 rifles – the Varmint in .22 LR and American in .22 LR or .22 WMR – tailored for left-hand shooters.

These new models inherit the advanced features of the CZ 457 series of bolt action rifles but with left-hand comfort and ease of use. The bolt, push-to-fire safety, and a separate bolt extractor control mirror right-hand rifle models for left-hand comfort. The striker status indicator located at the rear of the bolt provides a quick visual check while hunting or competition shooting. A shortened 60° bolt throw allows rapid and convenient reloading and increases clearance between the bolt and mounted optics.

CZ 457 rifles feature an adjustable trigger mechanism with a low trigger pull weight, creep, and customizable travel. The Varmint and American both feature Turkish walnut stocks with checkering on the grip and forend. With the use of an exceptionally durable anti-corrosion finish for moisture and protection, the external metal parts hold up great in the field and make maintenance a breeze.

Barrels are cold hammer-forged, producing constancy from breach to muzzle and exceptional accuracy; each uses the industry-standard 1:16 twist and includes a threaded muzzle. The Varmint model has a shorter barrel with a heavy profile than the American’s light profile and longer barrel. The improved modular system of the CZ 457 allows for barrels in various cartridges from the previous CZ 455 series. The reliable 5-shot detachable polymer magazines used in this current series are compatible with past generations of CZ rimfire rifles.

The new Left-Hand CZ 457 Varmint and American include all the outstanding features of the series configured on the ‘correct’ side tailored for left-handed shooters. For more information, visit cz-usa.com.

100-Year Celebration Content Added to Federal Ammunition Website

As part of the 100-year anniversary celebration, Federal Ammunition is featuring monthly online content celebrating Federal’s rich history. The month of May highlighted Federal’s founding personalities and the different private label names of Federal Ammunition. Content can be found on the 100-year anniversary website, www.federalpremium.com.

Since its beginning, the history of Federal Ammunition is filled with near-misses, what-ifs, and critical decisions. The article, “Federal’s Founding Personalities” chronicles the founders of the company to those that stepped in at what seemed like just the right time to lead the company forward.

“Federal Ammunition has a wide range of personalities and leaders that came at integral parts of the history of the company,” said Jason Nash, Federal Ammunition Vice President of Marketing. “The vision, work ethic, and business decisions made decades ago not only lead to the rich history of the company, but also the continued success of Federal Ammunition.”

The article “Federal Under Another Name” chronicles the different labels that Federal Ammunition was made under. At the beginning of the 20th century, users could acquire firearms and ammunition at a variety of retailers from hardware stores, barbers, doctors, grocery stores, and catalog dealers like Sears, Roebuck & Co. While most of these dealers sold ammunition under the Federal name, many dealers preferred a private label approach provided by Federal.

“In 1927 Federal Ammunition started providing private-branded ammunition to customers like Sears,” said Nash. “The ability to meet the needs of our dealers and customers is something we still pride ourselves on.”

What To Feed a Sporting Breed Puppy

Sponsored Content from Eukanuba™

The puppy stage is over in what can seem like the blink of an eye. That means you have only a short window to support a puppy’s development. Feeding a puppy food that provides nutrition with comprehensive benefits from the start is key. What you feed your puppy today can impact their future performance in the fields and waters where they will work.

Nutrition Designed Specifically for Growth and Development of Highly Active Puppies

You have only a short window to support a puppy’s development. Feeding a puppy food that provides nutrition with comprehensive benefits from the start is key.

In general, puppy diets are typically more nutrient-dense to meet the demands of growth. However, with sporting breed puppies there’s a lot more to consider beyond growth rates. Russ Kelley, Eukanuba’s Scientific Services Nutritionist says, “Active puppies that will develop into working and sporting dogs have greater demands placed on their developing bodies. From early exposure to the environments in which they will work, more comprehensive training and their high activity levels, these puppies have elevated nutritional needs.

“Sporting breeds benefit from a performance puppy food with an optimal balance of energy, protein, antioxidants, vitamins, and other key nutrients formulated with their future work in mind. We designed our latest puppy formula, Eukanuba Premium Performance Puppy Pro, specifically for an active lifestyle to help fuel growth and activity, support digestion and a healthy immune system, and promote trainability.”

Federal Ammunition Introduces New 22 WMR Punch Personal Defense at NRA Show

Expanding on the line of personal defense ammo for rimfire platforms, Federal Ammunition is unveiling its new 22 WMR load at the 2022 NRA Annual Meetings & Exhibits. Punch 22 WMR is propelled at extreme velocities and engineered to minimize expansion to hit critical penetration depths even through short-barrel handguns.

The new 22 WMR along with other new products from Federal Ammunition will be on display in booth #2423, May 27-29, 2022, at the 2022 NRA show held at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas.

“After the launch of the Punch 22 LR we saw the great response to that round and wanted to expand the options,” said Federal’s Rimfire Product Director, Rick Stoeckel, “The Punch 22 WMR continues to allow rimfire users to have effective performance but now in the magnum cartridge.”

Punch 22 WMR expands on the line of Federal Premium Punch Personal Defense options, now in the 22 Win. Mag. Rimfire cartridge. The Punch 22 WMR features a 45-grain nickel-plated lead-core bullet. Browning Wins Big with Unnamed ‘Bladed Jig’

Z-Man® pro conquers MLF Patriot Cup with always-reliable ChatterBait® JackHammer

Given his druthers, Stephen Browning would just as soon flip ElaZtech® softbaits at jungles of aquatic grass. But how can you argue when the bass won’t stop inhaling your ChatterBait like luscious jelly beans?

That first day of the Major League Fishing (MLF) Patriot Cup, Browning’s so-called ‘bladed jig’ was already on fire. “Right away that morning on Lewisville Lake, bass were trying to chew the paint off the lure,” recalled Browning, among the finest ChatterBait tacticians on tour. “I went into these little pockets with standing timber and immediately found success with a lure that always seems to come through for me. I’ve just built up so much confidence throwing that bait in these situations; really feel like it helps me read the activity level of the bass, and how they’re feeding on a given day.”

Originally reported as a generic bladed jig by MLF officials, angler-observers quickly sleuthed out the fact that Browning’s winning lure was, perhaps predictably, a 3/8-ounce, white ChatterBait JackHammer and matching pearl-white RaZor ShadZ™ trailer.

Z-Man pro Stephen Browning poses with the MLF Patriot Cup. (Courtesy of Garrick Dixon/MLF)

Unique among major bass tourneys, the Major League Fishing Patriot Cup pitted three groups of eight anglers against each other in a three-day, three-lake format. Elimination, Sudden Death and Championship rounds each played out at a different waterbody, unknown to the anglers until they arrived at the boat ramp each morning.
