The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way people live – and eat forever. According to Jonna Parker of IRI’s Fresh Center for Excellence (www.iriwordlwide.com), since the start of the pandemic, 83 percent of all meals in the United States are being prepared in the home. A year ago, younger consumers were more likely to go out to eat; now, as restaurants have limited capacity and limited staff, even the youngest shoppers are buying food to prepare at home – many for the first time. And Aubrey D. Specialty Condiments & Hot Sauces from Gourmet Chips and Sauces are just what the younger generation is looking for.
According to the New York-based Specialty Food Association (SFA) (www.specialtyfood.com/), specialty condiments — which include international, innovative, and unique new flavors — account for about 20 percent of all condiment sales. The category grew by 16 percent since 2013 and is expected to grow another 19 percent by 2022. Cooking sauces, mayo (including a variety of bold new flavors) and hot sauce contribute most to sales, according to SFA. “They attract consumers seeking kitchen shortcuts,” said Denise Purcell, director at SFA. “Condiments in general tend to be a gateway category for specialty food newbies.” In addition, Purcell noted, “Younger consumers, especially Millennials, have an affinity for condiments to dress up entrées or prepared foods or takeout. Even younger consumers, the iGeneration, which is 18-23 years old right now, are most likely to say they use specialty foods for snacking, which bodes well for subcategories like salsa.”
Shelley Balanko, senior vice president of the Bellevue, Wash.-based Hartman Group (www.hartman-group.com), confirms what Purcell said. “Younger generations consistently index higher on searching for foods that are organic, free from additives and chemicals, sustainably produced, locally made and ethically sourced,” she said. Her research showed that 71 percent of Millennial and Gen Z shoppers look for foods with healthful benefits whether that be foods that help with eating in moderation (70 precent), are high quality (66 percent), have specific benefits for the body (63 percent) or are holistic (61 percent).
Gourmet Chips and Sauces – long recognized as among the best specialty food companies in the specialty food marketplace — offers a full line of Aubrey D. Rebel Hot Sauces, the only full line of hot sauces in the world where each sauce is designed around the unique flavors and heat of each individual pepper, and much more. The specialty company creates and manufactures its own brand of Aubrey D. and Aubrey D. Rebel Hot Sauces, Hot Condiments and Hot Snacks. Today the company offers a full line of all-natural kosher hot sauces from mildly hot to obscene, as well as an amazing line of all natural spicy condiments including Jalapeno Ketchup, Jalapeno Mustard, Jalapeno Honey Mustard, Chipotle Spicy Mustard, Relish, Horseradish Mustard, Chipotle Mayo; fiery Snack Dips; and the hottest potato chips available. All the company’s products are proudly made in the USA in order to be closest to the farms that grow the fruits, vegetables and hot peppers for its sauces, helping ensure the highest quality, best tasting and the hottest sauces on the market. All its potato chip snacks are made in the USA, kettle-cooked in sunflower oil with no trans-fat, are kosher and gluten free with no preservatives or additives and have a one-year shelf life.

Iridium Communications Inc. is proud to announce that partner Viettel’s S-Tracking Vessel Monitoring System (VMS) is a winner of Vietnam’s prestigious Top 10 Sao Khuê Award for outstanding IT software products and services given by VINASA, the Vietnam Software and IT Services Association.
The Viettel S-Tracking Vessel Monitoring System is a dual cellular and Iridium satellite system that allows users to track and monitor activities of vessels remotely. With Iridium satellite connectivity, S-Tracking ensures communication between fishermen on board with management agencies onshore, even in the most remote waters. This is particularly valuable for Fishery Monitoring Centers to ensure the traceability of their fleet’s catches.
The system also offers the ability to export reports on the vessel’s journey and logbook to eradicate Illegal, Unregulated and Unreported fishing (IUU). Additionally, it provides real-time alerts that provide automated reporting and improve search and rescue activities. S-Tracking is currently used by more than 3500 ships and boats in Vietnam.
“We are proud to see our partner Viettel receive recognition from VINASA for the S-Tracking Vessel Monitoring System,” says Bryan Hartin, executive vice president of sales and marketing at Iridium. “S-Tracking is a versatile solution that provides reliable ship to shore connectivity anywhere on the planet, supporting the needs of Vietnam’s growing fishing industry.”

Ranew’s Outdoor Equipment offers a full line of implements for all your food plot needs. The Firminator G3 is by far the most versatile piece of equipment in the industry. It allows you to do all the necessary work of planting a food plot from start to finish with one implement.
A wide range of angle and pitch adjustments allows the Firminator’s heavy, 18-inch, notched 9-gauge steel disks to work the soil in a variety of situations. From the first cut into heavy sod, to lightly opening thatch and soil for over-seeding without disturbing existing forages, the Firminator is your best option.
The Accu-Seed System handles seeds of all sizes, from the tiniest clovers up to beans, peas and sunflowers. The system is ground-driven so seed is metered out relative to your speed. The seed will stop falling when the Firminator stops rolling to eliminate seed waste. An optional seed hopper agitator is also available for keeping seed blends thoroughly mixed and preventing small seeds from sifting through too quickly.
Disk blades can be adjusted up and out of the way, allowing the cultipacker to roll on the soil with additional frame weight being transferred to enhance the seed-to-soil contact that is critical for good germination rates.
For those who use a larger implement for ground tillage, but still want the precision of the Accu-seed system combined with a cast iron cultipacker, there’s the 4′, 5′, 6′ or 8′ Firmiseeder. This is also upgradeable to a Firminator with the purchase of the harrow parts.

A special thanks to Michael for hosting an impromptu meet and greet for over 100 people, who got to enjoy some time with himself, Remi Warren, Andrew McKean, and others, all over some hot pizza and cold beer.
With over 120 breath taking animals on display, and ten new world records, the Pope & Young Convention offers a big game display that can’t be seen anywhere else!
The convention offered a great opportunity to celebrate the first 60 years, but more importantly it was a time to look forward to the next 60 years for Pope and Young. A unique rod series designed for apex saltwater fly anglers, the new G. Loomis NRX+ T2S boasts an unparalleled fusion of materials, technology, and innovative design features that unite to elevate angler performance under the most challenging conditions. These are the rods that G. Loomis Elite Ambassadors Brandon and Jared Cyr rely on to connect anglers with tarpon, permit, and bonefish in the crystal clear flats off the Florida Keys. Now, these experienced guides reflect on the benefits that the NRX+ T2S – winner of the Best in Category: Fly Fishing Rod award in the New Product Showcase at ICAST 2021 – delivers to them and their clients on every trip.
“In the Keys, our fishing is so intense. It’s such a difficult fishery.” reflects Jared Cyr. “When it comes to rods, we need the best of the best. It all comes down to taking any advantage we can get to throw faster, cast better, and make more accurate shots. The right gear can make that happen. The NRX+ T2S is the best tool I’ve ever had in my boat for what we do. This rod is a true game-changer in this demanding environment.”
“This week, I was giving a client new to saltwater fly fishing a rundown of everything that has to go right to hook a permit,” remarks Brandon Cyr. “Wind direction, wind speed, sunlight, water depth, the sink rate of the fly, playing the current, how fast the fish is moving…the list is endless. Thankfully, the one variable I don’t have to worry about anymore is rod performance. Whether we’re getting shots at 30 or 70 feet, I know we have the best possible tool for any situation: the new NRX+ T2S.”
The award-winning G. Loomis NRX+ T2S is rolled with Dynamic Recovery Technology, a blend of several premium technologies that unite to create an action with exceptional performance characteristics. Exclusive Mega Modulus+ graphite matrix and GL8 resin, combined with the industry’s most advanced compound taper construction process, creates a crisp action with smooth, rapid recovery. Few fruits are more attractive to deer and other wildlife than ripe persimmons, and thanks to the folks at Chestnut Hill Outdoors, you can widen their window of attraction by planting early, mid and late varieties.
The attractive power of ripe persimmons to deer is nothing short of a natural phenomenon. As soon as these luscious, plump fruits hit the ground, the ground deer will be there to gobble them up and will keep coming as long as they keep falling. Chestnut Hill Outdoors offers several different persimmon varieties to increase that time period, each specially selected for its abundant fruit production.
The action kicks in when early drop Deer Candy Persimmons begin falling, from late August through October – about the time archery seasons kick in around the Country. Deer Candy Persimmons are all grafted female trees, which means they are vigorous and grow very rapidly, bearing 1-1/4′-1-½” diameter fruit in just 2-3 years, depending on care and climate.
Chestnut Hill Outdoors selected grafted American Persimmon varieties that are cold-hardy to address cooler climates so they will thrive over a much wider geographic area – Plant Hardiness Zones 5-9. In addition, their fruit drops over several months in late summer and early fall, offering a wide window of attractiveness and opportunity.
When their productivity starts to wane, late drop Deer Magnet Persimmons keep the momentum going and the deer coming through October and November in Zones 6-9. They, too, are grafted and should bear fruit in 2-3 years.

It’s a dangerous world. For everyday protection, Americans want a compact, concealable handgun chambered in powerful threat-stopping cartridges. So for its discerning customers, Bond Arms builds the smallest, most powerful pistols in the industry – feature-filled modern derringers designed for defending patriots and their Second Amendment rights. The best part is that all Bond Arms handmakes all its guns in Texas, and each comes with a limited warranty!
Bond Arms pioneered the modern double barrel handgun adding safety features like a trigger guard, retracting firing pins and cross-bolt safety. Bond’s patented rebounding and locking hammer add an extra level of safety missing in early derringer-style guns. When the gun fires and the hammer hits the firing pin, it automatically jumps back into a half-cocked position and locks. The only way to fire the gun is by fully cocking the hammer and then squeezing the trigger. All Bond handguns feature one-handed operation, the key to a fast, reliable personal protection handgun.
Competition shooters love Bond Arms handguns, too. Bond Arms derringers are no stranger to the winners’ circle of the coveted SASS (Single Action Shooting Society) World Championships! With accolades from both competition and conceal carry users, Bond Arms handguns have earned the reputation as an effective sidearm.
Interchangeable barrels are another feature that sets Bond Arms apart, and swapping barrels is quick and easy! Derringer owners can change barrels to one of over 37 combinations in a matter of seconds, including barrels from 2.5- to 6-inches long, polished or matte finishes, and many popular handgun chamberings. All barrels fit all models of Bond Arms’ derringers. 100% barrel compatibility provides customized options for better concealability, a different look or different cartridge configurations. Bond Arms’ barrels perform with the style and reliability you expect from the Texas gunmaker who pioneered the modern double barrel handgun.
There is a misconception that small handguns lack stopping power. While this may be true for some small cartridges, Bond Arms chambers its guns in powerful, proven defensive rounds like 9mm, 45ACP, 40S&W, 45LC/.410, 357Mag, 10mm and more! All of these are more than capable of neutralizing any threat. These pint-sized pistols pack a potent punch.

CAMP PERRY, Ohio – Leading two separate classes in the 2021 National Rimfire Sporter Match was Jean Redicker, 57, of Vallonia, Indiana – overtaking the T-Class and TU Class. Redicker’s wins were reminiscent of each other, outshooting the second-place competitors by only X’s to earn the top spots.
The National Rimfire Sporter Match, part of the Civilian Marksmanship Program’s (CMP) National Matches, was fired Sunday, July 25, on Camp Perry’s Viale Range. During the event, competitors fired from 50 and 25 yards in prone, sitting and standing positions. Over 260 competitors took the firing line during the match in Open Sight (O), Telescope Sight (T) and Tactical (TU) classes.
“I was the most relaxed I have ever been at the National Matches,” Redicker said. “This year has been a rough year, and I was unable to practice or shoot much. I wasn’t expecting to have a good showing.”
She went on, “With that in mind, I came to Perry with the attitude to just have fun, enjoy the day on this beautiful, historical range and let the matches take care of themselves.”
Redicker said the conditions of match day were perfect – hot, but with a nice breeze.

The Henry Lever Action X Model chambered in smoothbore .410 is a heck of a great shotgun. This shotgun was created to meet the demand of the market looking for defensive firearms. For a .410, this is a shotgun that anyone can handle. In fact, it is the model that my 75 year-old mother has to protect herself at home. The Henry X with side-loading gates allows you to reload this as you are firing the shotgun should you need extra rounds. This shotgun accepts 3-inch shells.
The Henry Lever Action X comes with a 19.8 smoothbore barrel with a changeable Invector choke, and overall length of 38.6 inches and a weight of 7.5 pounds. The length of pull is 14 inches with no rear sight and a green fiber optic front sight. Of course this shotgun is drilled and tapped for optics mounting and is a perfect match for a red dot sight. The Henry X uses a synthetic stock instead of walnut. Ii is fitted with molded-in swivel mounts and M-lok accessory slots and a Picatinny rail segment on the fore end perfect for mounting a light or laser sight.
This is an absolutely fun shotgun to shoot. We haven’t really made a lot of modifications to this model as this is the exact shotgun that has been swapped out as the defensive weapon for my mom. It is light enough for her to pick up and cycle the shotgun easily, and it’s easy to shoulder and point or shoot in an offhand stance with little kick to worry about.
A quick change of the Invector choke to an improved cylinder choke will let you to make the change to Hornady Critical Defense. This would allow you to fire Centerfire Shotgun Slugs at a muzzle velocity of 750 feet per second with 1x Flex Tip eXpanding Slug (FTX). This ammo is quite hard to find in the current ammo market, but when you do find it you can expect to pay around $35.00 per box of 20.
We found the Henry X to be smooth, accurate and easy to shoot. Regardless of age or body size, this is an easy to shotgun to mount to shoulder and use in the field as well as in a defensive way. It is a great shotgun for rabbit, squirrel and small game and with the right choke a good introduction to wingshooting for dove. The solid rubber recoil pad on this shotgun keeps it secure to your shoulder and prevents even the smallest of shooters from serious recoil. Get one of these and you will not regret it.

Leading Faucet Brand Launches Docuseries to Help Attract and Inspire Next Generation Plumbers and Welcomes Morgan as Official Brand Ambassador
Pfister, a trusted leader in the plumbing industry since 1910, is introducing American Plumber Stories, a docuseries that features the lives of plumbers throughout the US. The bi-weekly digital series, hosted by country music entertainer and Army veteran Craig Morgan, launches today at www.AmericanPlumberStories.com.
American Plumber Stories aims to promote the plumbing trade to the next generation of professionals. The show highlights the stories of plumbers around the nation including how they got started in the plumbing trade and the passion they have for their profession. These stories show how they built a career that allows them to lead financially rewarding and fulfilling lives.
Featured will be plumbers and their unique hobbies such as car racing, kitesurfing and many other exciting stories. Each episode is entertaining but also highlights the true opportunity the plumbing trade has to offer those who are not aiming to pursue a college education or who are unsure which career path to take. Becoming an “American Plumber” is a true alternative. By foregoing significant student loan debt and entering a career early, young plumbing professionals can build a fulfilling life for themselves and their families.
The plumbing trade has been experiencing a significant shortage of workers. The most experienced professionals are nearing retirement age and are exiting the workforce. At the same time the number of men and women willing to learn the trade continues to decline. Today, special high school programs and vocational or trade schools are scarce for aspiring students who want a career in the trades. Compared to higher learning and the promise and perceived security of a corporate career, there is also a negative stigma attached to the plumbing profession. Academic achievement became more favorable and the idea of trade education was left behind.
