Grilled Marinated Elk Steak
Grilled Marinated Elk Steak
Ingredients:
- 2 elk steak cuts
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- In a bowl, whisk together the olive oil, soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, minced garlic, dried rosemary, dried thyme, salt, and pepper. This will be your marinade.
- Place the elk steaks in a resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the steaks, ensuring they are well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or up to 4 hours for better flavor infusion.
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
- Remove the elk steaks from the marinade and let any excess marinade drip off. Season the steaks with a little more salt and pepper.
- Place the elk steaks on the preheated grill. Cook the steaks for about 4-6 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. Elk meat is lean and tends to cook quickly, so be careful not to overcook it.
- Once cooked to your liking, remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes before serving. This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat.
- Serve the grilled elk steaks with your favorite side dishes, such as roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a fresh salad.
Enjoy your delicious and tender grilled elk steaks!
Note: Elk meat is lean and flavorful, but it can become tough if overcooked. It's best enjoyed medium-rare to medium for optimal tenderness.
