Grilled Marinated Elk Steak

Grilled Marinated Elk Steak

Ingredients:

  • 2 elk steak cuts
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, whisk together the olive oil, soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, minced garlic, dried rosemary, dried thyme, salt, and pepper. This will be your marinade.
  2. Place the elk steaks in a resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the steaks, ensuring they are well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or up to 4 hours for better flavor infusion.
  3. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  4. Remove the elk steaks from the marinade and let any excess marinade drip off. Season the steaks with a little more salt and pepper.
  5. Place the elk steaks on the preheated grill. Cook the steaks for about 4-6 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. Elk meat is lean and tends to cook quickly, so be careful not to overcook it.
  6. Once cooked to your liking, remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes before serving. This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat.
  7. Serve the grilled elk steaks with your favorite side dishes, such as roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a fresh salad.

Enjoy your delicious and tender grilled elk steaks!

Note: Elk meat is lean and flavorful, but it can become tough if overcooked. It's best enjoyed medium-rare to medium for optimal tenderness.
