Campfire Nachos

Campfire Nachos are a delicious and easy-to-make campfire recipe that is sure to be a hit with friends and family. Here's how you can make them:

Ingredients:

  • Tortilla chips
  • Shredded cheese (cheddar, Monterey Jack, or a mix)
  • Cooked ground meat (beef, chicken, or turkey)
  • Black beans, rinsed and drained
  • Diced tomatoes
  • Sliced jalapeños (optional)
  • Salsa, guacamole, and sour cream for serving

Instructions:

  1. Prepare your campfire by setting up a cooking grate or placing a sturdy grill over the fire. Make sure the flames have died down, and you have a good bed of hot coals.
  2. Take a cast-iron skillet or a heat-resistant pan and layer a portion of tortilla chips at the bottom. Spread them evenly to cover the surface.
  3. Sprinkle a generous amount of shredded cheese over the chips. Use your favorite cheese or a combination of cheeses for extra flavor.
  4. Add a layer of cooked ground meat over the cheese. If using pre-cooked meat, make sure it's warmed up. You can season the meat with taco seasoning or other spices of your choice for added flavor.
  5. Scatter black beans, diced tomatoes, and sliced jalapeños (if desired) over the meat.
  6. Repeat the layering process with another round of tortilla chips, cheese, meat, and toppings until you've used all the ingredients or reached your desired amount.
  7. Place the skillet or pan over the campfire, directly on the grate or grill. Let the nachos cook for a few minutes until the cheese melts and the toppings are heated through. Keep an eye on them to prevent burning.
  8. Once the cheese has melted and the nachos are heated, carefully remove the skillet from the fire. Be cautious as the pan will be hot.
  9. Serve the campfire nachos directly from the skillet. Offer salsa, guacamole, and sour cream as toppings for your guests to customize their nachos.

Enjoy the delicious, cheesy goodness of campfire nachos while sitting around the fire and sharing stories with your loved ones. It's a perfect snack or appetizer for camping trips, outdoor gatherings, or simply enjoying the outdoors.
