Bond Arms’ Interchangeable Barrels Fit All Models for Customized Carry

Bond Arms makes swapping barrels quick and easy! Transform your Bond Arms double barrel handgun in a matter of seconds with one of over 37 combinations, including barrels from 2.5- to 6-inches long, polished or matte finishes, and many popular handgun chamberings. All barrels fit all models of Bond Arms’ double barrel handguns. 100% barrel compatibility provides customized options for better concealability, a different look or different cartridge configurations. Bond Arms’ barrels perform with the style and reliability you expect from the Texas gunmaker who pioneered the modern double barrel handgun.

Changing Bond Arms barrels is a straightforward task for any double barrel handgun owner to do. Remove the barrel retaining pin using the supplied allen wrench, swap barrels to the desired choice, and reinstall the pin. It only takes a few moments to switch out barrels. The hardest part is deciding which accessory barrel is best.

Bond uses stainless steel for all its barrels. They wanted a strong and durable material to handle high-pressure handgun cartridges. Barrels chambered for rimmed cartridges like .357Mag use extractors while rimless cartridges like 9mm do not.

The 2.5-inch barrel turns the Bond Arms double barrel handgun into a small package that packs a serious punch! It’s chambered for seven cartridges from .380 ACP to 10mm. This is the perfect choice for ultimate concealability.

The 3-inch barrel improves performance while maintaining a compact profile. With fourteen cartridge options, including 9mm, 10mm, .327 Fed Mag, .40 S&W and more, a 3-inch barrel is a versatile option and a popular choice for customers looking to add a new barrel to their gun. The 3-inch barrel also adds the powerful .45LC/.410 chamber for the ultimate in payload versatility.

Your Hunting Checklist Must Include These 7 Items

Hunting is a very popular sport and hobby in some parts of the world. The thrill, excitement, and adventure of hunting can be an exhilarating experience for even the most seasoned hunter. For those who are just starting out, it may seem like there is so much to learn before they can go on their first hunt that they might get discouraged and give up before they even have a chance to try it out.

But as with any new activity or skill, by taking things one step at a time you will be able to enjoy all that hunting has to offer without getting overwhelmed. Here are some items you should make sure you always have on your checklist when heading out into the wilderness for your first hunt:

Bring Enough Water

It is important to stay hydrated while hunting, especially if you will be in hot or dry conditions. A full water bottle or hydration pack will help you avoid dehydration and keep your energy up throughout the day. Another great option is an iron flask that can keep your water cold all day long. The folks over at Iron Flask Inc. note that a quality flask is durable and can keep liquids cold for up to 24 hours or hot for up to 12 hours, making it the perfect choice for any hunting trip. By staying hydrated, you will be able to better focus on your surroundings and avoid becoming fatigued.

Pack the Proper Clothing

Depending on the time of year and the region in which you are hunting, the weather can vary greatly from one day to the next. It is important to pack clothing that will keep you comfortable and safe in all types of conditions. Layers are always a good option so that you can adjust as needed, and make sure to bring something waterproof just in case it rains or snows. A good hat and gloves are also essential for keeping you warm, and a sturdy pair of boots is necessary for navigating through rough terrain.

Bring a Quality Knife

A good knife is an essential piece of gear for any hunter. Not only can it help you skin and butcher your game, but it can also come in handy in a number of other ways should you find yourself in a survival situation. When choosing a hunting knife, make sure to pick one that is durable and has a sharp blade that can easily slice through meat and bone.

Al’s Goldfish Fish Wrap Writer Special Edition Saltwater Goldfish: A Must for Serious Saltwater Anglers

Anglers looking to catch more, and bigger, striped bass, bluefish, bottom dwellers like fluke and a wide variety of other saltwater fish under varying conditions should check out the new Al’s Goldfish Fish Wrap Saltwater Series lure.

Designed by Todd Corayer, aka The Fish Wrap Writer, the Fish Wrap Writer Special Edition Saltwater Goldfish was primarily designed to catch species like striped bass and bluefish — but the lure has proven itself deadly on black sea bass, summer flounder, scup, cod and haddock as well. The colors – green back, light underbelly, and black spots — were specifically chosen to be most effective in all sorts of water conditions. It was built to catch fish in heavy surf, deep waters, and on bright sunny days where color and size matters. Green is the color you need for deep water, as it reflects light further below the surface of the water than red, orange or yellow – meaning fish can see it better in any water conditions. The side dots imitate menhaden, a primary forage fish for all sorts of species, and the unique side-to-side wobble of the Goldfish is irresistible to predatory fish.

Todd Corayer with Al’s Goldfish Fish Wrap Writer Special Edition Saltwater Goldfish

The Fish Wrap Writer special edition is made in two weight options, ¾ oz. and 1 ¼ oz. As is the case with all Al’s Goldfish lures, we say “Cast it, Troll it, Jig it!” because this lure is effective in many different applications. For casting the 1 ¼-oz. weight is perfect for long casts from the rocks or from a boat when you don’t want to get the boat too close to a school of fish. The ¾ oz. weight is better for shallow water locations such as salt ponds but is still heavy enough that it casts over the breakers. When trolling, troll slowly (about two knots, plus or minus) with at least three feet of leader. Alternatively, both weight options are great for jigging at various levels in the water column or off the bottom – just drop the lure and let the Goldfish flutter catch the attention of bottom dwellers.

Striper caught on Al’s Goldfish Fish Wrap Writer Special Edition Saltwater Goldfish

This deadly lure is made from marine-grade nickel-plated brass coated with hard-baked enamel paints (like all of Al’s lures, it is hand painted), and features a custom teaser on a 3/0 single hook. All Al’s lure products are made in the USA. MSRP is $10.99 -$11.49, and they are available at various tackle shops and at Al’s Goldfish Lure Company’s website. For more information on this exciting new lure, as well as the company’s entire line of lures and fishing accessories, visit  https://www.alsgoldfish.com/, or give them a call at 413-543-1524.

Gamakatsu® Introduces Cover Neko Hook for Finessing Around Targets

Gamakatsu®, the world’s leading manufacturer and innovator of fishing hooks and terminal tackle, is introducing the Cover Neko hook to perfect the newly-popular technique of Neko Rigging. Their design is based largely on the input of Major League Fishing pro Shin Fukae, the only angler to win an Angler of the Year award at the tour level in both Japan and America. He’s won nearly $2,000,000 since moving to the U.S. full-time, and credits much of those earnings to his mastery of finesse techniques. He has been instrumental in bringing the Neko technique to the United States and explaining it to appreciative anglers.

Current Neko Rig hooks are easy for amateurs to learn and can be used with a variety of soft plastics, but prove difficult for use around brush, laydowns and grass. Now, with Fukae’s tweaks and Gamakatsu’s legendary quality, the perfect Neko hook exists. The Cover Neko Hook consists of a shiner-style straight eye hook with an attached swivel to prevent line twist. There’s also a strong, 90-degree wire keeper to lock plastics in place. Taken together, it’s a tool that will let anglers fish through cover easily while maximizing hook-up percentages. These new hooks come three to a pack, in the three most popular sizes.

Cover Neko Features:

From humble beginnings as Japan’s smallest fishing hook manufacturer in 1955, Gamakatsu® Ltd has evolved to become the world’s preeminent hook manufacturer. Over the years, manufacturing upgrades and cutting-edge innovations have fueled Gamakatsu® USA’s rise as a top producer of fishing hooks, apparel, and fishing related items.

When anglers purchase Gamakatsu® hooks, they are buying an original product made exclusively by Gamakatsu®. Gamakatsu® is continuously testing new materials and striving to improve their products, which already sets the standard for the rest of the industry.

SCI Defends Historic Opening of Hunting and Fishing on National Wildlife Refuges

On March 7, 2022, Safari Club International, with its partners at the National Rifle Association of America, Sportsmen’s Alliance Foundation, and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, moved to defend the opening of new hunting and fishing opportunities on almost 100 National Wildlife Refuges around the country.

The Center seeks to overturn a 2020 rule published by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service which opened new opportunities on 2.3 million acres of refuges and national fish hatcheries. At the time, this was the largest expansion of hunting and fishing access on public lands that the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service had ever proposed. SCI and its partners recognize the weakness in the Center’s lawsuit and the importance of maintaining hunting and fishing access on these public lands.

Hunting and fishing have been essential to the development, expansion, and management of the National Wildlife Refuge System. For this reason, the National Wildlife Refuge System Improvement Act, the law governing these public lands, requires that the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service prioritize the expansion of hunting and fishing on refuges. That priority also makes economic sense. In 2021, the sale of hunting and fishing equipment and firearms generated a record $1.5 billion in funding for wildlife and habitat conservation. Those monies are distributed to State fish and wildlife agencies to ensure the continued protection of refuge lands and conservation of the wildlife which enjoy this habitat.

SCI CEO W. Laird Hamberlin stated, “Hunters were instrumental in creating the National Wildlife Refuge System. Congress recognized this contribution in prioritizing hunting on refuge lands. The plaintiff’s lawsuit is baseless—and SCI argued this in a motion to dismiss filed with our intervention. But even worse, the suit ignores history, the very clear direction of Congress, and the critical funding that hunting provides for the benefit of wildlife and habitat.”

SCI has challenged the Biden Administration to preserve access to public lands as part of our “No-Net-Loss” campaign. Defending this lawsuit against the Center’s attack is a first step to maintaining access to public lands, and ensuring that hunters and anglers continue to play their conservation role.

Colder Water Situations Call for New SPRO® Carbon Blade Baits

Because most bass anglers would fish 365/24/7 if they could, SPRO® expands their fishing season for when the water gets colder and the bass gets harder to entice. Spro’s new Carbon Blade baits offer an assortment of lure designs so anglers can easily modify them to enhance the baits for any fishing situation. Available in two sizes, ½ and ⅜ ounces and 15 different colors, savvy anglers will have extreme versatility and nearly limitless combinations at their disposal.

“Blade baits have proven to be effective for colder water use, and the carbon fiber blank we use for the lure’s body along with tungsten head and Gamakatsu hooks combine for a great lure,” said SPRO’s Syd Rives. “But at SPRO, we take it all a step more by offering three connections points on the body, allowing anglers to go from a deep, tight action on the front, to shallower use with the middle connection point, and even to an aggressive light retrieve for a fall fishing vertical yo-yo retrieve. The Carbon Blade will cover it all.”

The 15 colors offered on all three sizes feature colors for bass fishing water from east to west, north to south, including Ayu, Crawfish Gold, Chrome Pink/Blue, Chrome, Delta Chrome, Gold Black, Icy Barbie, Magic Tiger, Nanko Reaction, Nasty Shad, Old Fire Tiger, Perch, Purple Rain, and Purple Tiger Chartreuse.

NWTF Continues its Support of Wyoming’s Access Yes Program

The NWTF Wyoming State Chapter is continuing its support of the Wyoming Game and Fish Department’s Access Yes, a program that annually provides millions of acres of public land access for hunting, angling and other recreational opportunities throughout the state.

Previously called the Private Lands Public Wildlife Program, Access Yes brings together numerous conservation organizations, agencies and interested parties to leverage funds for the common goal of increasing public land access across the state.

Every year, WGFD engages both private landowners who’ve previously participated in the program and potential new landowners. From January to March, the department finalizes contracts with landowners, and then throughout the summer, properties are demarcated and maps are made available to the public. While most of these properties are opened for hunting in the fall, numerous properties are accessible year-round to include the spring turkey season. This process occurs every year.

“This program really resonates with outdoorsmen and women in Wyoming,” said Collin Smith, NWTF district biologist. “The bulk of funds are generated from the sale of conservation stamps purchased by hunters and anglers in the state. They are able to directly utilize and see where their purchases and donations are going.”

Moreover, every dollar spent on landowner easements equated to approximately 2.8 acres of public access.

No matter what their role in the outdoors is, who their employer may be or how they came to this industry—they are all amazing spokeswomen for our passion of the outdoors, hunting and shooting.”

Savage comprised over 20 stories of individual women in the outdoors. It was their goal to highlight women who helped take new hunters under their wing, make a big difference in the shooting sports or who are doing an amazing job being advocates for this way of life.

The full lineup of profiles and stories can be found on the Savage website and the Savage Team is available to help provide more information.
