Barramundi Fish Tacos

Barramundi fish tacos are a delicious and flavorful dish that combines tender barramundi fillets with fresh vegetables and zesty toppings. Here's a simple recipe to make barramundi fish tacos at home:

  • 1 lb barramundi fillets, skin removed
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon taco seasoning (or a mix of chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, and paprika)
  • 8 small corn tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage or slaw mix
  • 1 ripe avocado, sliced
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • Lime wedges, for serving
  • Optional toppings: salsa, hot sauce, sour cream, or Greek yogurt

  1. Preheat your grill or a skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Pat the barramundi fillets dry with paper towels and drizzle with olive oil. Sprinkle the taco seasoning evenly over the fillets, ensuring they are well coated.
  3. Place the seasoned barramundi fillets on the preheated grill or skillet. Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  4. While the barramundi is cooking, warm the corn tortillas on the grill or in a dry skillet for about 30 seconds on each side, until they are soft and pliable.
  5. Once the barramundi is cooked, remove it from the heat and use a fork to flake it into bite-sized pieces.
  6. To assemble the tacos, place a spoonful of shredded cabbage or slaw on each tortilla. Top with pieces of barramundi, sliced avocado, diced tomatoes, and chopped cilantro.
  7. Serve the barramundi fish tacos with lime wedges on the side for squeezing over the tacos. You can also offer additional toppings such as salsa, hot sauce, sour cream, or Greek yogurt for customization.
  8. Enjoy your delicious barramundi fish tacos immediately!

Feel free to customize the toppings and seasonings to suit your taste preferences. These tacos are perfect for a quick and satisfying weeknight dinner or a fun weekend meal with friends and family.
