I have been the owner/operator/artist at Birdsall Taxidermy for over twenty-five years. Art has always been a major interest and importance to me. I strongly feel taxidermy is a form of wildlife art, similar to sculpting and oil painting.

 Some of the goals I personally value are to respect all clients, and their prized trophies, always striving to provide custom masterpiece quality wildlife art into each mount. I am passionate about my pursuit of taxidermy. I really enjoy the talents the Lord has blessed and bestowed upon me and I plan to pursue taxidermy into the future for many years.

The Eastern Cape is home to over 30 plains game species. These animals range from the tiny Blue Duiker to the large Cape Eland. The Eastern Cape is a Malaria and Bilhazia free area. Hunting is done all year round, the best times being from March to October. You can expect to have some rain while you are hunting so a light rain coat will be useful.

We are a full-service tackle store. We also offer custom fabrication, boat work/installation, and charter boat service. Our services include:

Tackle Store: Extensive selection of salt water and fresh water tackle. Very knowledgeable staff with a lot of fishing experience in and around the southern California area. We also offer in house rod and reel repair as well as custom rod building.

In-Store Seminars: We have seminars at our location in the evenings on various fishing related topics.

Boat Work/Installation: We perform a wide range of work on clients' boats, including but not limited to supply and installation of bait tanks, anchor winches, and electronics. Also we specialize in fabrication and welding of stainless steel, aluminum, and starboard. Additional things we fabricate here are rod holders, tackle stations, dash boards, etc. etc.

Charter Boats / Breakaway Sportfishing: We run two 6-pack charter boats, a 37' twin-diesel Topaz and a 44' twin-diesel Pacifica. Tuli is a 14 000 (fourteen thousand) hectares area in south east Botswana that borders the Limpopo River for 10 (ten) kilometres with South Africa lying directly South of the property. The area also has an interesting history because of the fact that it was originally established as a buffer between South Africa and the then Bechuanaland Protectorate when the Protectorate donated land to the Queen of England to ensure protection from South Africa.

The property in the early seventies then got divided into blocks that were sold off to individuals for mainly breeding cattle. Over the years Tuli gradually started changing to wildlife and blocks like ours were subsequently created. The area is large tree bush veldt environment and famous for very typical bush veldt hunts and animals like, warthog, impala, kudu, waterbuck, blue wildebeest and leopard.The area was also well known for its natural occurrence of sable, which the last one according to records found was hunted in 1998. H&F however has reintroduced these animals and is offering hunts on these magnificent creatures from 2011.

As South Africa's Foremost Outfitter this 8 648 acres of wilderness comprises an interesting combination of 5 of South Africa's 7 biomes. Furthermore we have access to over 150 000 acres of concessions some within 10 minutes drive and others up North in the country.
