Smores: The Essential Camp Treat

This easy and customizable campfire treat is perfect for winding down after a day of adventure! It's a twist on a classic that requires minimal ingredients and prep.

IngredientsInstructionsStep 1: Prep the Foil Boat

Tear off two squares of heavy-duty aluminum foil, approximately 8x8 inches each. Shape each piece of foil into a shallow boat or bowl. This will hold your dessert over the heat.

Step 2: Build the Base

Place two graham cracker halves in the bottom of each foil boat.

Step 3: Layer the Chocolate

Place one square of chocolate on top of the graham crackers in each boat.

Step 4: Add the Marshmallow

Place one large marshmallow on top of the chocolate in each boat.

Step 5: Heat It Up

Carefully place the foil boats next to the glowing embers of your campfire or on a grill rack over low coals. Do not place directly in the flame.

Step 6: Wait and Watch

Cook for approximately 3-5 minutes, or until the marshmallow is golden brown and the chocolate is melted. Use a stick or tongs to rotate the boat if necessary for even heating.

Step 7: The Final Crunch

Remove the boats from the heat using tongs or a glove. Top with the remaining graham cracker halves and gently press down to create a "sandwich."
