Renowned artist Kasey A. Nixon joins the Rigby Art team

London gunmaker John Rigby & Co. is pleased to announce the addition of Montana-based artist Kasey A. Nixon to its esteemed Rigby Art team. Kasey A. Nixon is a talented sculptor and oil painter known for his exceptional works that celebrate nature, wildlife, and the time-honoured sporting traditions.

With a lifelong passion for wildlife and the outdoors, Kasey A. Nixon’s art captures the essence and behaviour of his subjects with unmatched precision and reverence. His artwork reflects his first-hand experiences in the field, be it with a rod or gun, or armed only with a sketchbook and camera. Drawing inspiration from the great animaliers and representational painters of the past and present, Kasey has tirelessly honed his skills to leave his indelible mark in the history of wildlife and sporting art.

Kasey A. Nixon’s academic background in the natural sciences, coupled with his study of taxidermy and anatomical sculpting, contributes to his exceptional ability to authentically represent his subjects. His dedication to accuracy is evident in every stroke of his brush and every sculpted detail, breathing life into his artwork.

“We are honoured to welcome Kasey A. Nixon to the Rigby Art team,” said Marc Newton, managing director of John Rigby & Co. “His artistic skill, coupled with his deep-rooted passion for wildlife and sporting traditions, aligns perfectly with Rigby’s commitment to excellence and admiration for the natural world.”

Kasey A. Nixon brings with him two limited edition bronze sculptures, each one of seven:

“Burning Sage” captures the essence of a large, mature mule deer buck mid-stride in the classic stotting bounce that muleys are known for. This sculpture aims to portray the effortless levitating ability of these magnificent creatures as they navigate the rugged western terrain. With the title holding multiple meanings, it symbolises the fleeting nature of these old bucks, like elusive spirits that leave an indelible mark on those who seek them.

“The Old Guard” immortalises the spirit of an old bull elk, weathered by time but defiantly holding his own against younger challengers. These rugged survivors, having endured numerous hardships and dangers, spend their later years alone in the unforgiving wilderness, rarely seen by human eyes. Kasey’s artistry shines as he seeks to bring these enigmatic creatures to life, reflecting his own fascination with their mysterious existence.

Kasey is humbled and proud to become part of the illustrious artistic legacy of Rigby. He looks forward to contributing his artistic vision and passion for wildlife to the esteemed Rigby Art team.

“Burning Sage” is sized at 20″ x 10″ x 22″ (L x W x H): £7,140, plus shipping.“The Old Guard” is sized at 20″ x 10″ x 16″ (L x W x H): £6,480, plus shipping.
