GAOS Adventure: Hunt GREEN..land.

The NRA Great American Outdoor Show is the perfect arena to explore adventure hunting.  You will find outfitters from Africa, South America, and, to my surprise, Greenland.  Muskox is the premier species, yet they offer hunts for caribou as well, making this one of the most unique hunting destinations in the world.  Caribou populations have plummeted worldwide, and having a huntable population is a testament to the vast expanse of wilderness land.

Traditional muskox hunts occur in the Arctic in brutal conditions.  If you have watched Jim Shockey and other hunters challenge the North, you can visualize how difficult this hunt can be for you and your gear.  Plus, taking a non-hunting family member along is nearly impossible. Greenland offers combination hunts for caribou and muskox in August and September when the land is green, and you can enjoy this spectacular land.  You can explore and enjoy the wilderness, rather than surviving it.
