Baked Perch

Baked perch is a healthy and flavorful way to enjoy this delicate fish. Here's a simple recipe for baked perch:

Ingredients:

  • Fresh perch fillets
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Lemon juice
  • Olive oil
  • Fresh herbs (optional), such as parsley, dill, or thyme
  • Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it to prevent sticking.
  2. Rinse the perch fillets under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Place the fillets on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. Drizzle olive oil over the fillets, ensuring they are lightly coated on both sides. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the fillets and season them with salt and pepper to taste. If desired, sprinkle some fresh herbs over the fish for added flavor.
  4. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for about 12-15 minutes, or until the fish is opaque and easily flakes with a fork. Cooking time may vary depending on the thickness of the fillets, so keep an eye on them to prevent overcooking.
  5. Once baked, remove the perch fillets from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes before serving. Serve the fish with lemon wedges on the side for extra tanginess.

Baked perch pairs well with various side dishes such as steamed vegetables, roasted potatoes, or a fresh salad. Enjoy your flavorful and tender baked perch!
