The McGovern Outdoor Journey

The McGovern Outdoor journey started with a road trip.  Never experiencing much outside the Midwest, our founder, Colleen McGovern, fell in love with hiking in the National Parks and cherished each trail map. 
 
When she tried to replace her tattered trail maps with something beautiful to hang on her wall, she came up empty handed and decided to create her own. She got to work leaning on her experience while working at National Geographic, and soon found demand for her decorative trail maps from friends, family and ultimately the National Parks. 
 
McGovern Outdoor expanded into a full line of accessories, gear and home goods. Each collection showcases high quality designs, original maps and illustrations of the places & trails we love.  Today the McGovern Outdoor brand can be found across the country in specialty retail stores such as L.L Bean, National Parks and Ski Resorts.
