Caribou

Caribou, also known as reindeer, are a species of deer native to the Arctic and subarctic regions of North America, Europe, and Asia. They are adapted to living in cold, harsh environments and are an important part of many indigenous cultures.

Caribou are characterized by their large antlers, which are typically larger in males than females. They are also known for their broad, concave hooves, which allow them to walk on snow and soft tundra without sinking in.

These animals are herbivores, feeding on a variety of plant matter, including lichens, mosses, grasses, and shrubs. During the winter months, they may dig through snow to access food.

Caribou are known for their seasonal migrations, which can cover thousands of miles as they move between winter and summer ranges. These migrations are driven by changes in food availability and the need to avoid predators, such as wolves and bears.
