The company was founded in 2013 by Daniel Stearman. He graduated from Academy of Art University with a BFA degree in industrial design with an emphasis in consumer product design. He is a versatile designer in the outdoor industry, and it was his passion for fly fishing that led to the creation of Leaf Fly Fishing Equipment.
